Seriously, anyone wants some of our rain? We'll share! We're in the midst of yet another storm. The record November rainfall for Seattle is 11.62". The record rainfall for any one month in Seattle is 12.92" back in January of 1953. We're up to 11.59" of rain in Seattle (as of 7 pm tonight) so far this month - and it's only the 15th! So yes, if you would like some of our rain, please feel free to take it. VERY windy tonight, too - lots of downed trees, and when I was driving across the bridges I was getting blown all over the place.

But eeeeee! muldy came to visit today! I picked her up downtown (where we laughed at the storm drains which were overflowing and bubbling up) and we went down to Seattle Center. Had a quick lunch in the Center House (it's been years since I've been in there! I forgot they had Pizza Haven!) and then went over to the Experience Music Project (or EMP as we locals call it).

For those who don't know, the EMP is basically a big music museum. Very cool! They had exhibits of music costumes (with one of the Village People indian headdesses :P), a exhibit showing the development of the electric guitar, the history of Seattle music, a Jimi Hendrix exhibit, and best of all...

A DISNEY exhibit! OMG, we had way too much fun in there. They had costumes from the Broadway Beauty and the Beast and Lion King shows, and lots of exhibits where you could listen to classic Disney music or watch videos about Disney music history. :D Although they had one list that had the 50 greatest/most influential/something like that Disney albums of all time, and I SERIOUSLY have to protest some of their choices. The Cheetah Girls? The Lizzie McGuire Movie? Popular, yes, but I CERTAINLY don't think they warranted being on that list. Anyways, we had fun playing Disney music trivia, which was unfortunately easy - most of them were VERY easy to figure by process of elimination if nothing else. But there was an Aladdin question! It was a "which of the following duos recorded a song for a Disney animated film?" and one of the choices was "Brad Kane and Lea Salonga." You bet I was hitting the button like mad on that one! :P Although it was kind of a shady question, 'cause one of the other choices was "Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson," and they did do an "A Whole New World" cover for the Aladdin DVD. But Brad and Lea was the correct answer, and all of us Aladdin fans KNOW that's the right answer. ;)

After that we squeed over some AWESOME stuff in the gift shop. I need the new Walt Disney Records "Music Behind the Magic" 2-disc set! And they had an AWESOME, NEW (I can't even find it on Amazon.com!) Disney illustrated song book - it has "Promise" and "Look Through My Eyes" and a bunch of other awesome Disney songs! They're simplified versions... but they're there!

Then it was over to the Science Fiction Museum, in the same building. ZOMG GEEK HEAVEN. We walked in, and there was Star Wars everywhere. And there was Farscape. And ET. And they had THE Death Star from Episode IV! No, THE Death Star. The real one. You can even light up the "windows" on it and it plays the Imperial March. And they had the ORIGINAL lightsabers that Mark Hamill and David Prowse used! And Star Trek uniforms and props! Seriously. Geek heaven. All scifi geeks must go there. And they had a HUGE, full-size Alien. And the big metal suit that Ripley gets into to battle the alien in Aliens was there, too! And then we went around a corner, and there was a TV playing an SGA ad!!! I literally squeed on the spot!! XD They had so much good, geeky stuff in the gift shop, too. And the background music played "Science Fiction/Double Feature" ("...and fucking, and sucking on...!") and the X-Files theme and the Star Wars theme and eeee!

After that we trudged back to the car (luckily the rain had slackened a bit) and went over to the mall for a bit. The storm drains there were overflowing enough that they were actually mini fountains! We had dinner at Red Robin there before I took Fi back to the bus station and said goodbye. :(

Getting home was interesting - the power (and thus the traffic light) was out at my exit, so traffic was REALLY backed up and it took me forever to get through the light. Grr. It's still blowing like crazy out there! They say it's supposed to calm down in the next couple of hours, though.

And ZOMG SQUEEEE! Mt. Baker opens to skiiers tomorrow, and Stevens Pass opens on Friday! SKI SEASON IS HERE!!! XD

1. List characters found in your icons. (Each only once, even if you have several icons of the same person.)
2. Alphabetize. (You may do this by first name if you like. I consider aliases vs. real names and titles vs. not to be up to the meme-er.)
3. Take them two-by-two and those are your pairings.

Aladdin
Chuck the Tech
Cody
Elizabeth Weir
Elphaba Thropp
Galinda Arduenna (or Upland in musicalverse)
Genie
Jack Sparrow
John Sheppard
Mickey Mouse
Marahute
Peter Griffin
Ronon

1. Aladdin and Chuck the Tech - ..random! :P
2. Cody and Elizabeth Weir - okay, Liz with a 12-year old cartoon kid is rather creepy. :P
3. Elphaba and Galinda - I swear I didn't plan that. I SWEAR.
4. Genie and Jack Sparrow - comedy gold in the making!
5. John Sheppard and Mickey Mouse - o_O
(left out Marahute, 'cause there's an odd number here. Unless you want a kinky, bestiality threesome!)
6. Peter Griffin and Ronon - I think my brain exploded just trying to wrap my mind around that!
