I posted this at fangoria. Forget ripping it off because I'm not sure of the true origins. Maybe my mom did make it up (she used to be creative like that) or maybe it is Korean folk lore.

My mom's a bit different now then she used to be. She got me hooked on horror flicks when I was five. Maybe like me she got some morbid pleasure out of scaring the s*** outta kids. Anyway, her bedtime stories were freaky too. Here's a recant of one she told. Though not exact because this was about 20 years ago but it's stuck in my mind. Pretty good considering she's from Korea.

There was a mother who loved her kids greatly. Every night she would tuck them in and they'd go to sleep. One night the son had noticed his mom would leave the house after tucking them in. He decided the next night to follow her.

On the next night he woke his sister. Both followed the mother as she walked towards the town cementary. They hid behind bushes as they saw their mom start digging into a grave. She pulled out a bone and started eating it. The boy stepped out and asked "What are you doing mom?". The mom was obviously shocked and dropped the bone. A tear started to form in her eye.

"You see son, I used to be a witch," she said "but I desperatly wanted children. My own children. The other witches said I couldn't unless I became human"

The kids were silent and in awe.

"In order to remain human, however, I need to eat the bones of the dead and avoid letting you, my children, know of this ghastly secret" Tears started rolling down her face as she moved towards the children. "I love you so much, but now you know and to avoid being tortured and turning back into a whitch, I must eat you."

The kids were frozen in fear. Soon after the mom had eaten them. She has never stopped crying over this unfourtunate incident and sometimes, in that small town, you can hear the wind scream in sadness near the old cementary.
