Life. It’s a fickle creature. One moment it is there and the next it is gone without warning. One fall could end it all. One wrong turn. A dark alleyway. A disease. Dehydration. A government agency. With River, it was the Alliance.
They killed her. They destroyed who she was and that, in my books, is a brand of death. With their inhumane experiments and stubborn ways, they ruined the mind of a genius. They broke her and when I found her, she was in pieces.
I have spent my life learning to be a doctor. I have studied extensively over many areas and I was in the top five percent of my class. None of that matters.
They killed my sister and I can’t heal her. I can’t ever return her to who she was. The River I knew is no more.
