We are no different. He is my touchstone as I am his. The support we give each other is what drives us onwards. We are there, side by side for as long as we live, perhaps not in every sense but close enough for it to count. We are there for each other when it matters most.
And is that not the most important thing? To be there? I believe it is.
I only wish now that he could be here in person. His emails are enough to keep me holding on but my heart is aching every day that passes us by for his return home.
