haha, I'm sure that by now, we can all agree that en masse, and typically singly as well, are panic ridden and believe anything they hear. They almost seem to enjoy stress and spreading it around to other people. I simply don't understand. Even as an undergrad I didn't really get it. But that's okay. I mention this because now that the strike is over and students are trying to make sure they will compelete the semester (the rumour going around during the strike was that it would be cancelled). I understand that they're scared but if they only looked at it logically, they'd see they really only will have missed three days, and less if they didn't have classes on either Wed, Thurs, or Fri. They lost 2 weeks and 3 days. The university cancelled reading week and extended classes by 1 week at the end of the semester, making up 2 whole weeks. The only thing to possiby worry about is that the exam period is only 1 week long and that some exams will be at 7 am and some will be on a Sunday. Both shitty, but the funny thing is that that shittiness hasn't really been realized yet by the student body. Although, an e-mail was sent around today about that, so this situation might change. In any case, it's interesting to see how mass panic grows and evolves over time, though I'm not at all sorry that I'm not directly involved in it and am happy that I completed undergrad some 3 and a half years ago.
