start the morning with a 911 call
i work in a row home that has three other tenants living in it. when i got to work this morning the doorbell rang. it was a lady who was looking for one of the tenants, Celine. Apparently Celine didn't show up for work today, wasn't answering her phone, and didn't answer when this woman rang her doorbell. So, i told her which apt she was in (3rd floor) so that she could go knock on her door and see if she was actually there.
so this woman, Liz, goes upstairs while i stay in the hallway to be nosey and listen to what happens. she knocks. and Celine starts hysterically crying from inside her apartment. Celine had fallen and couldn't get to the door. So i go downstairs to my boss's apartment (she is also landlord to the tenants)...i get the spare key to Celine's apartment and I walk the keys up to Liz. The door is unlocked but Celine is against the door so we can't open it.
We coach Celine and motivate her to move her body away from the door. We get inside and Celine is laying on the floor, naked, in a puddle of urine. gross. Liz tells me to call 911. I call. In the meantime, we put some clothes on her and ask her what happened. She said (in very slurred speech) that she was changing out of her work clothes (approx 8pm last night) and she fell. hit her head on the dresser (which explains why the one side of her face is swollen and bruised). She was in pain and half of her body wasn't moving. she tried to slide across the floor to get to the door and call for help. when she got to the door she couldn't get up to open it and she didn't have energy to yell....so she laid there....all night.
luckily her coworker was concerned and came over. otherwise, who knows how long she would have been laying there.
in conclusion, the ambulance came and they took her away. we think that she had a stroke. Celine (who is in her mid 30s) has had cancer 3 times already in her life. She takes some kind of heart medication because all of the cancer stuff has made her heart weak. this lady has had really bad luck.
i washed her floor and fed her cat.
