I can't help but the sigh when I hear people's thoughts on Christianity; most misconceptions can undoubtedly be attributed to the hostile right-wing hijacking of "religion" or spineless liberal approach to "spirituality".
Christianity seems to be going through a turbulent period of partisan splitting. Though there are new developments (i.e Rob Bell), most Christians simply can't let go of principles they find paramount to believing (though some are thoroughly outdated and were just a product of the setting in which Biblical authors were subject to).
At this point, I've pretty much disassociated myself from many of the previous programs and machines that ran my life. However, I still spend time reflecting on spirituality and Jesus' teachings...
How did we get so far from the original intent?
