...and from the top.

ME DON'T LIKE
  • The DVD would not play in my player and I had to rip it; damn you, Fox. Made me forget to rip the extras. I only remember the art boards and the fan extras.
  • Okay, when Scully gets to Fox's house, she looks around as if she's NOT BEEN THERE IN AWHILE. I don't understand why some people think they've been living together this whole time. Clearly, as we see later on, their relationship had some sort of deterioration in the past 6 years. If they were still deeply in lurve, "scratchy beard" would not exist. She even says, "I worry about you and the effects of long-term isolation." Their powerful Hank Moody fucking make-up sex was just that: MAKE-UP SEX.
  • Who the FUCK is that strawberry-blonde who keeps giving Mulder the eye in the bullpen? At first I thought it was Marita since I hadn't seen her in awhile, but of course it's not. Is there something from the show I forgot? Oh, and Xzibit = bad actor.
  • Scully's major angry skepticism annoys me. Since when was she all up in the hard-core Catholicism?
  • There was not enough make-up sex.

  • I need to know why the three books in Scully's apartment are relevant props and must read them now.
  • "What'd you do?" The shaved beard line is retarded.
  • The only reason the Samantha storyline is being briefly touched upon is because we are being prepared for 2012's TXF3: UNTITLED ALIEN INVASION PROJECT and it will be relevant in some way. ♥
  • Why are they putting the guy's head on women? Why not men?
  • I'm not sure I ever want to be stuck in Angry Priest Hospital Administrator's hospital.
  • "I see a woman's face" is as boringly repetitive as "I am a medical doctor!"
  • Mulder's flippancy to Scully's speech on not wanting to look into the darkness is too comical.
  • The "if you were a mother" comment the boy's parents give Scully make me want to punch them in the face. She's a mother twice over, fuckers, and she's lost them both.
  • Where the FUCK did uber confrontational Scully come from? I know she got a little angry in Season 9, but WHOA, leaving the FBI really did a number on you honey. Guilting Father Joe into a seizure was just wrong!
  • Why are cars always in the way in the middle of a foot chase?
  • S: "This stubbornness of yours, it's why I fell in love with you." M: "Like I said, that's why we can't be together." Again, THEY WERE NOT TOGETHER AT THE START OF THE MOVIE, M'KAY?
  • 2012's TXF3: UNTITLED ALIEN INVASION PROJECT better take place in the summer, because I want to see more of David and Gillian's beautiful bodies. These cumbersome jackets are sucky.
  • I was suddenly struck with the wonder that Somerset, VA might not actually be so mountainous being so close to Washington, so I Google Mapped it. There are a few, paltry mountains roughly nearby in reality, but I'm still not convinced...I blame the unending beauty of Canada.
  • The extended scene of Mulder getting out of his crashed car and the dude finding him on the road above was SO RETARDED. Hillbilly: "Uh, yeah, there's a car down there! Yuk, yuk." M: "HEEEEEEEEELLLLLPPPPP!!!!!!!!" It deserved to be cut out of the film.
  • So we finally find out who the strawberry-blonde chick is: Special Agent ISaidMyNameTooFastTooTellWhatItIsSoI'llHaveToCheckTheCreditsLater. Who the fuck is she really?!?!?! You are useless, woman.
  • Removing the head is so nasty. It reminds me of "Leonard Betts," though.
  • Is it Mulder with the wrench in the labratory?
  • Skinner Googling an address is like the most technologically advanced thing he's ever done. Well played, Skinman, well played. Nice to see the FBI gave you a tech upgrade.
  • Skinner interrupting the icky surgery and Scully coming to the girl's rescue seems like such an obvious ending when it gets down to it. I feel kinda let down. At least Skinner and Mulder's embrace make up for it on some slashy level.
  • MSR kiss makes me cry. *sniffle*
  • WHAT THE MOTHERFUCK DID YOU DO TO THE DVD CREDITS YOU FUCKERS? ALL THE ARTISTRY IS GONE! Did I rip the wrong version or something?
  • I wanna see the MSR vacation sex.

OMG, both Skinner and I rule for Google Mapping during the course of this film. I did not realize this until re-reading my comments.

She even says, "I worry about you and the effects of long-term isolation." Their powerful Hank Moody fucking make-up sex was just that: MAKE-UP SEX.

I guess I'm confused how anybody could think anything besides them living together all this time. I didn't think Scully looked around like she hadn't been there; I noticed that she walked in without knocking--something they NEVER did in the series with the exception of Existence when Mulder had apparently moved in. It doesn't make any sense to me why they would suddenly be in bed together after some sort of "deterioration" when they were clearly fighting over his deep involvement in the case. They didn't really have time to make-up, break up, then make-up again during the course of the movie, especially considering how complicated and silent their relationship is.

If it's just Mulder's house, why does he have a big, fluffy Scully-like bed and all his crazy newspaper searching and sunflower seed eating is confined to just his office? And how is he paying his bills? And I took the 'isolation' comment to mean that he was isolated from everyone except her--that his withdrawal from the world was making him a little nutty.

Plus, Scully talks about sharing a home. They break-up, get involved in a case she doesn't really want any part of, and suddenly she moves in? That doesn't make any sense to me.

So, in short, I guess I disagree about your assessment of the state of their relationship. ;) Though, I absolutely agree with your assessment of "The Surgery". Quite possibly the best piece of XF music ever, with the possible exception of the music that's playing at the end of TINH when Jeremiah Smith is abducted.

Oh, no, I took it to mean that he's at her place when they're consummating their return to coupledom. The artwork on the walls match what's in her office. Plus, that really IS a girly house; in no way it's his. They are totally living apart. The evidence of their quick coupling is their constant attraction. They're thrown together again, he's staying at her apartment because it's convenient, she's vulnerable about not being about to save the little boy and wham, Mulder moves in with his smooth moves to console her! The evidence of their deterioration is what happens afterward-for example in the doctor's locker room-their visions on life have caused them to drift apart and Mulder continues to try to pull Scully back into it. He needs her help, her theories and guidance to help him solve the case.

Bills? Who has bills? A man who doesn't want to be found has no bills! I really think Scully has this look of hesitation as she's entering Mulder's house. Maybe she bought it, maybe she pays for the upkeep, but I truly feel they haven't seen each other in awhile.

Besides, if they had, why would Mulder have that scratchy beard she doesn't like? ;)

Honestly, though, I think the MSR parts of the movie are really played up to us shippers who love the angst. :/

I'm just wondering ... are you saying that the scratchy beard bed scene is "Scully's appartment" but the first scene where Scully goes to see Mulder is a different house all together? Cos its all the same unremarkable house :o)

Otherwise, I'm confused. lol.

That's what I was totally led to believe! I thought she continued to keep his fish tank all this time. lol

I never even considered the idea that the downstairs we saw was a different house than the upstairs because both areas have elements of both of them. Mulder's confined to his office downstairs (and the dark leather couches are totally Mulder-ish); the furniture upstairs is all Scully but there's a fish tank in the bedroom--totally Mulder. Plus, he has a razor and shaving cream at "her" house...they just jumped each other simply because they saw one another and then he moved in? With no discussion whatsoever about their supposed drifting apart? Because they so easily fell into bed together during the series? That just makes no sense to me.

I think the conversation in the locker room is about what's driving them apart NOW: the case. She lived his lifestyle for 9 years and he's lived hers for 6. The case has created a conflict between the two styles where Mulder and Scully actually have to make a choice which one they want, whereas before the choice was out of their hands. Everything they discuss is about things that occur during the course of the movie, not things that have happened previously off-screen.

A man who doesn't want to be found still has to have shelter, heat, and electricity. Scully's working as a resident; I can just about guarantee she's not making enough to completely support two households, and if they've broken up, why would she be supporting him anyway? And after everything they've been through over the last 15 years, there's nothing that would keep them apart but allow them to jump into bed after spending 12 hours together. If they were apart, they would be APART...like forever.

We don't know Scully hasn't mentioned not liking the beard before this point; it's just apparently the first time he knows he's not getting laid because of it. Plus, they've been living together for 6 years and she's undoubtedly working long and weird hours at the hospital so it's entirely possible the opportunity for sex hasn't arisen since the beard got beyond Scully's level of acceptance.

Good points, good points. I do concede defeat.

And remembering they've been together 15 years still continues to shock me! Every time I add it up it, it's still a "WOW" factor. lol

So, in short, I guess I disagree about your assessment of the state of their relationship.

I agree with what you disagree on and agree with what you said. LOL. I am pretty sure that CC or FS has confirmed *somewhere* that they were living together. The only reason Scully was supposed to seem indifferent in the first scene where she goes to the house was because CC wanted to have the audience wonder where they were at. I was sold on their relationship the second Mulder said "whats up Doc" I dont think he would be calling her that if their relationship had deteriorated pre-movie.

I also wonder about their supposed make-up sex. They did that with their clothes on? ;o)

I thought that too, and then wondered if I was missing something because I didn't see any hint of steamy make-up sex. But I guess that wasn't just me. ;)

I'm with the majority. I wasn't even aware that it was up for interpretation about whether or not they were living together - I thought it was completely obvious that they were.

Same here. The idea of it being debated is quite bizzare. lol.
