I don't know why I didn't think of doing this earlier... but I totally wrote mini reviews on my LJ of S9 eps. Here were my initial thoughts right after first seeing it when it aired:
Um...ye-ah. Alright. First off, I think that this ep is the WORST of the season, maybe one of the worst ever? :P I mean, what was with that strange french/italien music? It was weird, man! I could understand the french song lyrics and it was all nonsense, just like the episode. Reyes seemed like such a ditz for most of the hour, which I didn't like. I don't know. I just got back from reading some of the comments at the OS message boards, and I'm really surpised at how many people say it's the best episode this season O_o;; Um...sure. The music totally got on my nerves, there was like, no story line, IMO, and everyone was just *strange*! Especially all those other FBI people. Who was that guy giving Reyes, Scully and Doggett orders???? I have to say that I like Lord of the Flies better than this episode. There were only a few things I liked during "Improbable": -First off, Scully and Reyes working together. That was awesome. -The green suede jacket thing that Reyes was wearing! I want ;) -The shot of baby William! And of Pyjama!Scully! :D She looked so cute ;) Man, her and Reyes sure wear different clothes to bed, that's for sure!
Things I didn't understand: -Who was Mr. Burt??????????? -Why did the killer kill? Did they say and I just missed it? (while pretending to throw up...j/k) -What was with the last scene with the two italiens and the music...??
Man, that was one WEIRD episode. That's all I have to say.
And then I came back half an hour later to write this:
I've been thinking a bit more about the XF episode and I'll admit that I actually like the last 10 mins or so, minus the strange Italien song scene o_O;; Reyes and Scully in the parking garage was pretty funny. And I will also admit that the camera angles were neat. But still. Some people are comparing it to Hollywood A.D and Bad Blood and that's just WRONG people! It's wrong! .
So I get it more now, but I still think it's a really weird ep. Though it does have its moments I guess. Also, I used to really like Reyes back in the day. FYI, lol
