The idea of the super solider story is that it was completely new and different from the original mytharc. I remember CC saying he wanted a new story because the other was dragging on or something.

I still think that the super soldiers are like a slave race, I think they still probably do as they're told by the aliens? Maybe? I dont know, there wasnt a lot of explaining. I also think that the government doing these tests and creating the super soldiers WERE working for the aliens. Much like the syndicate were making the "slave race" ... the government was abducting people, doing the tests ect. So I think the super soldiers are created by the government and aliens who are working together.

what proof did he *ever* have that Kersh was directly involved with Knowle Rohrer and Agent Crane?
He saw them coming out of Kersh's office in the middle of the night in Existence or Essence - one of the eps.

I'm just flat out confused by Skinner's sudden inability to do anything except be mean and suspicious and non-helpful.
He's non-helpful to Doggett because Scully and Mulder asked him to be. When he goes to see Scully for late night sexytimez, he says something like "You and Mulder asked me to drop this, so why are you getting involved?"

I just wish it was easier to make the old myth arc mesh with the new. Back in the day, everybody was concerned with preventing the successful creation of a hybrid, because they wanted to make us a slave race with no defenses against the colonists or the black oil. Now all of a sudden everybody's all about making super soldiers, which, like I said, is pretty much the exact opposite of slaves. And you're right, there's too little explanation; they never confirm that the men behind the super soldier experiments are working with (or for) the aliens, so it's hard to tell how everything is related. It's so frustrating!

Why did Scully and Mulder ask Skinner to be non-helpful to Doggett? You'd think Mulder would want to help Doggett as much as possible, now that he's in charge of the X-Files office.
