Quotes
Mulder: I'm sorry. I don't mean to be cold or ungrateful. I just... I have no idea where I fit in. Right now. I just, uh... I'm having a little trouble... processing... everything.
Scully: What are you doing?
Mulder: I'm going to book myself on that Princess cruise.
Scully: I'll book it for you.
Byers: I think it goes without saying that we're all tremendously relieved.
Langly: Not just because we have questions about your involvement in a certain blessed event.
Scully: Mulder, you make it sound like this was a conspiracy.
Mulder: Ooh, there's that word again.

HI MULDER. SUP BB?
Oh goody. Now we come to the "CC wants to tease the audience about the father of Scully's baby" part of the series! Fun times. Fun fun fun times. I'll say this right now, I find it ABSURD and against all rational thought that Mulder and Scully wouldn't have talked about this whole big ass elephant in the room (aka. the Sculder fetus and its parentage) after Dead Alive at some point. And as that tease continues, the whole air of mystery is STUPID AND LAME.
Spoiler alert: Mulder's the dad.
Anyone feel better? I do.
See I get Mulder's awkwardness after rising from the dead and wondering about his place. I even get Scully's hesitance about knowing how to react to Mulder and how both of their confusion over these two things that clash together. I get it all. I understand both of the points of view. But at the same time it's very very exhausting (especially as this attitude prevails through MOST OF THE REST OF THE SEASON. ALRIGHTY THEN).
So in this episode Mulder is sad and scarred from his Terrible Trip in a Spaceship and Back. And this makes ME sad, because Mulder? I missed you. Like a hell of a lot. And how nice of Chris Carter to totally erase the absurd brain disease (that I don't acknowledge in the first place anyway). Thanks Chris. You're a peach. Call me crazy, but you could have just not written it in the first place if it was going to have no relevance like that.
So aside from all of that angst, the whole story (there's a story in this one?) is about Absalom and alien invasions and some lists and crap and I don't really care. Oh and there's also some bullshit about Doggett and Scully's cases being more successful than hers and Mulder's over the last SEVEN YEARS. Jigga WHAT? Yeah right. Sure they always thought Fox Mulder was a little nuts, but he was effective you know? Whatever. At least Doggett looks incredulous at this.
In the end Adam Baldwin reveals his bumpy neck to Chuck Bartowski the audience. This has much less of a dramatic impact on me now than it did when it first aired. Funny that.
