I made the horrific mistake of watching "William," this and then "Home" right next to each other. First I'm all upset over Scully giving up Baby William. Then I'm upset over the idea that these bastards could do such a horrible thing to a pregnant lady. (The first time it aired I was terrified it was actually going to kill the baby.) Then in "Home," there's the scene after they've done the makeshift autopsy on the disfigured baby and Mulder and Scully start this "huge and in retrospect unnecessarily long but will totally end up relevant" conversation about making babies outside the police station and it's all very prophetic, especially with Mulder going on about him never thinking of Scully as the mom type. He even calls her "mom" later on as she's leaving his hotel room. I'm thinking, "You two will be making a beautiful baby three years later that will be in danger by a slug! And then Scully has to give this sweet manifestation of your love together awaaaaaaaay! After Spender makes us think he's a disfigured you, Mulder, and makes us cry when he's holding your son! All of this, in danger by a JESUS SLUG! WHY, GOD, WHY?"
Scully was really, really hot tied up to the bed, though. Cutting the slug out of her spine was the nastiest thing I'd seen in ages.

I'd say that it's on par with removing the worm from Bear's neck in Ice. Except the worm is way cuter than the Jesus Slug.
