The plane rumbles and roars into life beneath her feet and she settles back into her seat. Beside her, Mulder cracks open sunflower seeds and flips the dog eared pages of the in-house magazine.
She isn't sure how he managed to talk her into travelling nine hours to England to visit the sites of innumerable crop circles (his earnest "We'll visit Stonehenge as well Scully, it'll be fun," had nothing to do with it, she tells herself and doesn't quite believe it) but she nonetheless stifles a smile at his childish excitement.
Two days later, foot sore and aching from tramping plough rutted fields at his side, she sinks contentedly into the business class seat and closes her eyes to Mulder's ramblings.
She gets home to a note telling her that Daniel Waterston is dead.
