dulles airport gets my award for worst airport ever (even above heathrow). the G terminal is more like a bus station for smaller jets. and you have to take a bus to get there, which sits outside behind the main terminal with the doors wide open (it's cold you bastards!). the bus to the G terminal is unlike the oddly moon-vehicle-esque people movers in that it's more of a bus. and when one of these things opens to unload passengers, you have to fight your way through the throng. it's too bad the airport looks so promising when you drive up to it.
i get an email this morning from a friend. some friend of a friend of a friend needs a home for two 10 year old sister cats. the woman is pregnant and the husband is going on a broadway tour. evidently because of the risk of a feces bourne disease, they are trying to find a home for the cats. further on into the email i see that they need to find a home by tomorrow or the cats will be put down. since i have two cats and would like to have kids, i read up on it.
as it turns out, indoor cats are less likely to contract this because they need to eat the raw meat of another animal already infected. at least two sites i read said that the woman should avoid cleaning the litter, but the risk of contraction is greater from the the woman eating undercooked meat. i'm sorry, but if it were me, i'd wear gloves and then wash my hands after scooping the poop as opposed to euthanizing my cats.
