hard ex core

soooo last night. jake bresett sent me a message on myspace and told me to im him on aim. so i did. and was talking to him. and he made his first comment mistake in saying "i like hXc" and i'm like mmmm.....and then later he said "i'm scene."

and because of that, i am now ranting on the stupidity of that.

ANNNNNNYWAY. i dont understand what's with these kids these days or their entire point to what they do. EVERY SINGLE FUCKING KID THAT SAYS THEY'RE "SCENE" SAY IT'S ABOUT THE MUSIC WHEN IN ACTUALITY IT'S ALL ABOUT THE GODDAMNED LOOK. all these kids bash conformity, and then make the largest conformity FAD i've seen in a while. i just dont get it. half of these kids pranced aroundin abercrombie and fitch and listened to britney spears until good charlotte came out. but suddenly, THEY are the ones who are all about the music??? opposed to those few, select children who have been listening to punk, punk rock, emotion hardcore, ska, and other such musical fun-ness for YEARS? do they have to walk around and scream "i'm scene"?? NO. must they dress a certain way becaues they like the type of music? NO. YOUR CLOTHING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR MUSICAL PREFERENCE. why these kids continually have to label themselves and segregate themselves and then complain about the rest of the world is blowing my mother effing mind. seriously. what's the fucking point?

and by the way, who's making these rules? who says what's "scene" and what's not? who is and who isnt? is there a special committee that's been made to judge others and catagorize them? and how many rules are there exactly? what happens if you break the rules? then what? hmm hmm hmm??!?! and then it's like every child that calls themselve "scene" now suddenly questions their sexuality and have decided to add to their trend list that "bisexual" should be a really fun thing to label themselves as. wow. neat. and how many of them will ever truly act on that? yah about 1%. mmmmhmm. then it just makes it look like anyone else who IS bisexual or homosexual is only out and saying they are because it's trendy. somehow, these "scenesters" can tell who's bi from who's not and claim who's just doing it as a trend and who's not.

since when did God disappear and these pubescent "scenesters" take over as the ultimate ruler and judge? seriously. these kids think they have the RIGHT to judge people and label them and catagorize them according to waht they wear. which somehow represents the type of music you listen to. because you definately can't shop anywhere you want and wear wahtever you want if you want to listen to a certain type of music.

why do kids feel the NEED to be part of a larger group and then call themselves individualists? YOU'RE NOT LONGER AN INDIVIDUAL THE SECOND YOU MAKE UP THE LAMEASS LITTLE NAME AND RUN AROUND SCREAMING IT AND CATAGORIZING EVERYTHING ACCORDING TO IT.

where in life will saying you're "scene" or "emo" "or 'hxc" get you?? are you going to put it on your college application? i'm sure they'll be impressed. how about job applications? i'm sure there are plenty of places where a pre-requisite is being "scene." do all of you kids who are "all about the music" think it's going to break you into the business? INSTEAD of aquiring TALENT? yah. you try that. you'll end up living in your parents' house until you're 30, doing nothing with your life but running from concert to the next and sitting on lj, myspace, xanga, aim, msn, and yahoo internetting your little life away and labeling and catagorizing other people and then judging them according to that.

since all the "scene" kids band together, i'm worried that the youth of america has already started to harden to the point of not even getting to know people anymore. just label them and then claim them as friends according to the music they listen to and the clothes they wear. who cares about their morals, personality: likes, dislikes; family life, goals, or ambition in anything. wow. sad.

i, again, just dont get what gives them the right to label and judge others so much and why they feel such a strong need FOR these labels. what will it get you? where will it get you? what does it do, other than segregate yourself and close yourself off? it limits you. wow. that sounds like a lot of fun!!

why can't you children just be yourself. wear WHATEVER clothing you like, shop WHEREVER you want, listen to ANY music you choose, be friends with people for who they ARE, and STOP WORRYING ABOUT WHAT EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD IS DOING, WEARING, AND LISTENING TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i believe the only labels ANYONE should have are these:
1. HOMOSAPIAN
2. GENDER
3. BIRTH GIVEN NAME / TITLE (ie: MR., MRS., MS., DR.)
4. SEXUAL ORIENTATOIN (although, it seems to be trendy to shout that one out)*
5. RELIGION (if it applies and you feel the need to express that)*

*= optional, yet rational.

anyway. that is my rant on stopping this growing sensation. and pretty much just TRY and drill SOME advice into these kids' heads. seriously. does anyone else see where i'm coming from???
