I'm frustrated. Want to know why? Because after seven years of self-teaching myself HTML and coding (you may recognise these words from MySpace... anyone?) I've forgotten how to use it.
I know that seven years is long enough to be able to know the little petty stuff used for my LJ page but c'mon, it's not like I spend every single freaking day on the computer. Or at least I used to, and now I don't. What's frustrating is that you search through the long-ass code to try and fix a little problem, and when you think you have, it doesn't work. Then you have to re-search through the code over and over again trying to find the appropriate section of code. And if you can't, then you use trial and error and end up stuffing up the code as a whole -- not to mention it greatly effects the way your page looks, hence the reason you changed the code in the first place. It's a big cycle -- editing the code, saving the code, refreshing the page, and if the page doesn't look right, you do it all over again.
But what if something looks out of place and you search for the code to fix it only to find that it's not there? I hate having to search through 43298479277842 characters if it means that I'll never be able to fix the problem. Unless you're using IE to view this right now, you'll be able to see the blue problem. Yes, it's the border at the back. Up until the day my friend insisted I get Google Chrome, I hadn't noticed this wee little problem. I've been spending four hours trying to look for it in the code or otherwise trying to change it. And don't suggest that I should change the whole layout because I spent ages working on this. But then again, there'll be a day when I'll get incredibly bored and decide to change it. In the meantime, I feel bitter.
I am annoyed, very annoyed.
