I refuse to be a part of Livejournal any longer.
There's a line between "poor management" and "outright abuse." That line has been crossed, and I can no longer ethically support Livejournal on any level.
Merry Christmas, one and all.

Worse, however, is how the current chief of LJ is handling the backdraft. He outright makes fun of everyone who is upset with it, and claims that the removal of the subject is justified because "less than 1% of comments use it." Overall he's just being a huge jerk to his paying customers, and dares people to leave. It's not like it makes a difference of course - he will always have users because Russia desperately needs Livejournal right now, so they'll put up with any dictatorial changes he makes as long as they continue to have a forum for their political blogging.
Then there's the "glitch" that caused everyone's comment pages to be flipped to the new system, no matter what their setting was. I have no doubt that the LJ chief will use the skewed statistics caused by it to say that "over 99% of LJ is using the system, so I'm not changing it."
He removed comment previews because he "never saw the point." I understand free users can at least edit their posts now because someone else running LJ disagrees, but it does show that he doesn't give two shits whether someone uses it or not.
Lastly, I now am understanding that there was reportedly a glitch in billing that caused a bunch of people who previously used automatic payments to have automatic payments switched back on. Billing responds to all reports by calling people liars who seek to slander Livejournal's name.
This is all in addition to Livejournal's long history of abusing its users of course! This is just the first time we've had the LJ team outright insulting us. Our new Russian overlords are quite bold in that respect.
