Transmutation 9 (Yet another actionspam)

[Anyone in the library right now, feel free to take a look at that table in the back corner. There's a golden-haired teenager sitting there, surrounded by piles of paper with strange patterns and circles covering them. He's rather focused on his task, occasionally shuffling some papers around to compare two slightly different symbols he's drawn, ( Read more... )

Not too far away, an impressive tower of amassed books breaks the calm by crashing down around the head of one Yomiko Readman, who lets out a surprised yelp of pain as she's buried underneath the pile. Again.

The sudden draft of air might agitate the papers Hoenheim had carefully laid out, as well.]

[He glances over at the noise, and stands up, walking over.]

You okay?

Carefully crawling out from the pile of books.]

Oh...yes! I'm quite all right! I think I was more surprised than anything else!

[A nod. He's half expecting her to tell him to clean it up for her, that's his job here.

That voice sounds familiar.]

You might want to read them one at a time.

And she just starts picking them up and re-stacking them as it's the most natural thing in the world.]

Oh...oh yes, I'd intended to, but I found so many that I wanted to read that I pulled them off the shelves and I'd intended to read them all! There's so many books that I've never seen before! There are some I have, but I liked them so much that I wanted to read them again! I wanted to make sure I did...I was afraid I'd forget about them if I left them where they were!

[... right... she's stacking them up again.]

It might be easier for the librarians if you just took one book off the shelf at a time. If you really think they're interesting, you should be able to find them again.

["the librarians" meaning "me".]

That's how they do it at home! 'They' meaning 'she'.]

Oh, it won't be any trouble! I'll put them all back when I've finished with them! I can remember where they all went....I just can't remember which ones I'd wanted to read!

[She may be clueless, but she's not thoughtless.]

Oh yes! There's nothing I like better than a good book! Though they're all good, but I do have my favourites, and I'll read those over and over again, but I especially enjoy ones I've never read before! And there are so many books here that I haven't so I just couldn't pick one! It was hard enough deciding which one to read first, so I simply picked the one on the top of the stack. But the one I wanted to read next was at the bottom, and I probably wasn't careful enough when I tried to pull it out.

[
Scratching her head, she chuckles softly in embarrassment.]

[Yeah, he's not really impressed with you. Not at all.]

Could try putting them all sideways, like they are on the shelves.
