emtigereyes post something about cooking, it made me decide to ramble a bit.
Every sunday for the past few weeks, I have been trying my hand at cooking something new. I have an idea for this Sunday, but I'm not really sure how it's going to turn out. I canibalized some other recipes to throw together the one I'm going to try. The original seemed a) too bland b) like it was designed for a pork dish not chicken. If the chefs out there don't mind, what are your thoughts on
Ingredients
* 2 cups sliced onions
* 3 potatoes skinned and cut into chunks
* 6 carrots cut peeled cut into 2 inch pieces
* 2 stalks of celery finely chopped
* 3 pounds cut up chicken pieces (with bone), with or without skin
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
* 1 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary leaves
* 1 tsp thyme
* 1 tsp sage
* 1/2 cup wine
* 1 cup cream of celery soup
* 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
* 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
Directions
Arrange onion, potatoes, celery and carrots in bottom of slow cooker. Place chicken pieces on top and season all over with salt and black pepper. Sprinkle rosemary, thyme, and sage over chicken.
In a medium bowl, whisk together wine and soup. Pour mixture over chicken.
Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours.
Serve chicken, sauce, and vegetables over rice.
