Doctor Who - Season 7 Hopes

Within a few hours Season 7 of Doctor Who premieres. To say I was disappointed in last season would be an understatement. I've already gotten my vitriol reactions from the mess out on rhoda_rants's blog (sorry for that!) so I'm hoping this season can wash away all the bad. But to do that, Doctor Who is going to have to do a few things.

Hee. Just curious, are you watching live or are you going to marathon them once they're on Netflix?

1. I KNOW! The season premiere just proves that their time ended at "The God Complex"--they were completely useless and added nothing.

I finally had my AHA! moment regarding my dislike for Amy. Other than I feel like Moffat forces it down our throat how awesome she is, I constantly think of her as the poor man's Donna Noble. Donna Noble is the only sassy, ginger companion I will ever recognize!

2. Totally agree. Critics have fed his ego and it's beginning to show. (Please virtually punch me in the face if I ever get like that.)

3. Well, another thing I noticed after it was pointed to me, Moffat likes to retcon a lot of Who history and prefers to pretend his version of Doctor Who is the only one to exist IN THE WHOLE OF TIME. But I agree, Smith has won me over, and when given good material, he really knocks it out of the park. (Ten will always be "my" Doctor, however.)

ETA: I think what tripped them up was for the first part it ( ... )

I don't know. I'd like to not be so horribly far behind in my Who watching, but I can't promise anything. It's hard for me to commit to a time slot. I might have to wait for either NetFlix for the DVD set again.

I know what you mean. I think it's why I'm so possessive of my television time: 7 o'clock rolls around and I'm all DO NOT DISTURB ME! It's also helped me drop some shows because I want to devote my time to shows I actually care about.

If you wait for NetFlix you'll be able to see them all at once, too. There's not going to be a winter break like there is for the rest of us. You won't have months to dissect every little detail about the episodes and realize how bonkers the plot is.
