Book Flood.

My new job gives me books. Lovely, yummy books. SO MANY CRUNCHY BOOKS. I cannot possibly read them all and they're taking over my living room. I can't bear to just throw any out... what if they're GOOD?! Also, I wish to share with local folks.

(I cannot afford to ship or be trusted to mail things in a timely fashion, so i'm sorry out-of-state friends. If we visit one another, my book collection is at your disposal--and you're welcome to visit anytime!)

I'm trying to figure out the best way I can share my books with people, and still hear feedback on them. Normally, you can just lend a book to someone, but OMG you don't know how many books... a quarter of my living room is gone and i've got another two boxes in my cube at work. I've only been at work a month. I will loose to this tide of books.

I was thinking I might set up a book club? Something where you can grab books out of my stack, and then post online somewhere where everyone else in book club can see if the book is good or not. (where online? dunno. help.) Then we circulate the best books and the crappy ones get sold/donated/eaten. I posted about this very briefly on facebook, on my journal accounts, and have sent out some emails, but not all of you are in all of those places.

I don't know the best way to do this. If you're interested, I want to hear about it--

so two questions:
1. Do you want to borrow my books (many of which are not available through stores yet) in exchange for telling me and others about them in about 5 sentences?--more if you have time or inclination, but 5 would tickle me.

2. Do you have a favorite website you'd rather do this through?

+ Livejournal ... don't wanna support them, really.
+ Dreamwidth ... not everyone has logins/invitations to get logins
+ Facebook ... some of you have resisted valiantly and I don't want to wreck your streak
+ Some random blog site with a password we all know that is just used as a group info dump ... which we will all forget to check
+ OR SOMETHING ELSE ...b/c I tend to miss the obvious.

Also, I cannot make a poll here in my non-paid account, so tell me via comment. Folks with book club experience are encouraged to reply! GUIDANCE-WANT!
