Now I'll agree with the sentiment that if a cop has tattoos, they need to be covered up. Police officers need to look professional and disciplined - it's a part of the image. So for the cops and cop unions who are bitching about having to cover up in the summer heat, tough shit.
However, the last statement, "How will we tell the cops from the criminals otherwise?" is a telling sign of how far up his ass this guy's head really is. There are plenty of folks out there with tattoos, in varying degrees of body coverage, who are good and decent folk and have never had a single criminal thought in their life. My brother just got a tattoo, he's never tried to jack someone or steal their stuff.
