To cross this line

Tonight I went over to [my new friend] Andrew's house to watch some Buffy. Always a good time - I loves finding me some Buffy fans! After that his roommate Shelby came in and we all talked for about an hour or so about movies and the symbolism our favourite directors use. We also shared a lot of stories about scary things (a midget dressed as a clown - more on that later) and embarassing moments we've had... Like that time I was in the kitchen and saw my own reflection in the window, which caused me to freak out and throw a dish at it.

Andrew told us this story his friend got in the newspaper (somewhere in Georgia) that was just plain creepy. Apparently this is a true story! These parents would go out a lot and had a babysitter watch their kids. This one night the kids said they wanted to play with their dolls so the babysitter asked which doll they wanted to play with; the kids said the big clown doll. It was one of those 3- or 4-foot "life size" ones or something. So the sitter goes upstairs to get the doll, but when she went to get it the thing *blinked* at her. She called their parents to tell them about this and the parents told the sitter to take the kids and get out of the house: they never bought a clown doll. Apparently there was this midget who escaped from an institution that dressed like a clown and had been living in their house for a month. He never hurt the kids or molested them or anything, he just honesty believed he was their toy! It sounded a lot less urban legend-y when I heard it in person, I promise.

Keli and I might go get our hair did after work Saturday. I could use a trim and she wants a colour change, so we're planning on going to see our stylists, Charmaine and Brenda, at their new salon. I'm hoping we both have the money to do it, especially since several of us at work are planning on going dancing that night. Fun to be had by all!
