however, i'm one of the few who can say that having my wisdom teeth out created more problems for me. see, they weren't bothering me at all -- they were even coming in perfectly! but since my teeth were so crowded and i never had braces, and since i was having TMJ pain, the dentist thought it would be best to take them out, because i was young enough for the rest of the teeth to "spread out" some over time, and having less teeth back there wouldn't be putting pressure on my jaws and thus aggravating the TMJ.
well, apparently whatever room those teeth were taking up was keeping my jaws from closing as tightly as they do now, so now my TMJ is worse, because i can clench my jaws tighter.
but, my situation was totally different.
just take very good care of yourself after the surgery. you DO NOT want drysocket (probably what stupidkid had happen). i didn't get it with the wisdom teeth, but when i had another tooth removed a couple years ago, i somehow got it (despite that i followed the after-care instructions completely), and it was the most awful pain i've ever been in, ever.
