Yesterday I talked to
ahansen on the phone and he asked me how it was going with the bird. I replied, truthfully if naïvely, that since the day I had posted I had not heard from him. I hoped, perhaps, that my hatred of it had manifested a physical form and pushed it somewhere far away.
Alas, no.
Cut to 1 am last night/early this morning, when my avian nemesis decided to let me know that the battle was far from won. Unlike last time, earplugs did not remedy the situation. I got a horrible sleep, and it so happens that Tuesdays I have to get up early anyway for a two and a half hour class starting at 8 am.
Well-played, bird. Well-played, indeed.
Some of you may be foolish to ask how bad this can really be. I suggest you go get headphones, connect them to your computer, turn up the volume all the way, and
listen to this. I recorded this last night at 3 am while I was trying to decide the best way to commit suicide.
NB - I mastered the file because I'm a nerd that way. This means you should not turn up your volume all the way. That was probably obvious anyway, but...just in case.
Alternatively, you can leave out the part involving headphones and use it to fuck with your co-workers' heads/drive them insane.
If it happens again tonight, I'm sleeping on my couch.
What's really getting to me is the fact that I can hear another bird right now. The song is coming from a different direction, but it's the same type. That's right: I'm being surrounded.
