My dad is fixated on getting me a new car (awesome, because I can't fixate on much of anything these days, I don't know if it's the Prilosec or just stress), and it's a manual, which I was hoping would be my next step in car ownership, because I like the idea of knowing more about my car's transmission than "it's slippy" and being able to get the fluid changed for less than a hundred bucks.
It's a volkswagen golf, and from the year, I think it'll resemble this dude:

Though I am hoping to have some sort of transportation lined up before too long-- I need to get back into the rhythm of working a regular-ish job, I need some positive cash flow, and I also would love to be able to drive myself to some events that I've registered for and currently am not sure how I'm getting there or back...
