dizzyizzy191, with "black widow." D.Gray-Man, Rhode/Lenalee (sort of).
"When I get a boyfriend someday," Rhode Camelot announced very loudly when she was five years old, "I'm going to take him home and eat him, like a praying mantis or a black widow spider."
"Eat him?" Ticky Mick asked crossly, pushing his curly hair up out of his face. He was trying to do his homework (why the Earl insisted on it, he'd never quite figured out), and Rhode's nonsense wasn't helping.
"Yes, eat him!" Rhode affirmed, climbing up onto the table to stare at him over his Japanese homework. He had to study Japanese, because he might have to work with their allies in Edo someday. "Boys are stupid and I hate them, so I might as well cook him and eat him."
That... really didn't make any sense to Ticky. Of course, that could have been because he liked boys just fine. Or because he was much older than five and thus had grown into actual thought processes. But making sense or no, she was getting in the way of his homework, so he reached out and ripped her heart out. It regenerated almost before he'd gotten his hand out, of course, but it was still good for annoying her.
"Hey, that's mine!" She crowed, reaching out for it. She managed to get it, but not before Ticky had gotten blood all over his textbooks.
Neither of them mentioned Rhode's bizarre ambition for years, until Rhode was doing her own Japanese homework and Ticky had just come in from a most disappointing night. He'd gone out to kill General Theodore, but his annoying little team had gotten in the way. Ticky had taken out that charming little clown, but that disturbing Amazon woman and the Japanese boy (and hadn't Ticky done a double-take when he heard a Japanese name among the exorcists, of all people!) had gotten away to warn the General.
"Yo, Ticky," Rhode drawled, propping her feet up on the table. "You remember that time I said I wanted to eat my boyfriend?"
"Yes, if only because the Earl wasn't happy I got your blood all over my schoolbooks." Ticky took off his top hat and set it down on the table. "Why, did you finally drag home some victim?"
"Yeah, but she got away." Rhode grinned at him, her expression at odds with her words. "I decided that I hate boys so much I don't even want to eat them. I brought home a real pretty girl, but her stupid boyfriend saved her."
"Such depravity," Ticky said, and Rhode dodged his hand when he reached out to grab one of her internal organs.
