[Suikoden] 30 Kisses theme #2

Mar 14, 2005 22:31

So I signed up to do Nash/Sierra at 30_kisses, because are they ever my Suikoden OTP. This is theme #2 for the list, "news/letter," and naturally in the Suikoden world that can only mean one thing: a badly-written, gossipy newspaper with a bad serial novel.

This is set during Suikoden III and works even if you don't think their being married is canon, since her at least visiting him is pretty well canon and I never say outright that they're married.

When he met Sierra by the lake, she sat perched on a piece of the wrecked ship and appeared to be reading something by the wan light of the moon.

“I do wonder,” she said pleasantly, “How the writer of this article found out about my coming to see you, and got such a good description of me.” She held the paper out to Nash, and though he couldn’t see in the dark nearly as well as she could he knew what she’d been reading: the article from that gossipy Budehuc newspaper, the one detailing his “secret moonlight meetings.”

“I’m sure there are a few people who could manage to spy on us,” Nash pointed out, more amused than anything else. He could tell that Sierra hadn’t been seriously offended- after all, people hadn’t been turning up in the castle hallways drained of blood. “Ninjas, the Karayans, even the resident detective. Though no one writing for the newspaper has enough money to hire Watari, I daresay Chief Lucia has no interest in my personal life, and you would have seen Kidd.”

“Which is why I rather think you had something to do with it.” Sierra slipped down from her perch gracefully, letting go of the paper and letting it flutter to the ground. “Unless you can think of someone else?”

“And what if I did have something to do with it?” Nash asked playfully, finally closing the distance between them. Sierra drew back, climbing effortlessly back up to the wreckage she’d been sitting on a moment before. Nash followed her, making the climb just as easily.

“Then,” she said, leaning in closely and brushing her lips over his cheek, “We will have problems.”

Then she shoved him off the side of the wreckage, into the lake. He came up sputtering, and she smiled slightly.

“You might want to be quiet. Someone might hear you and write an article about your lack of aquatic prowess.” She stood up, balancing perfectly on one foot for a moment before diving into the lake after him.
