Our router died yesterday. There was screaming and wailing and gnashing of teeth. There were withdrawal symptoms that may or may not have been compounded by the vicious sunburn on my back (honestly though, who ever heard of a Filipino getting a sunburn? Last I checked, I'm supposed to have enough melanin to prevent the redness and the peeling and the itching). There was batting of eyes at daddies and heartfelt offers to pay for it myself to mommies. All is well now. I'm plugged back in and I now know how to troubleshoot a small office network.
I've also started sketching out RomCom #2: Michael & Dhavina's story. It's interesting to start a new novel. For almost two years now I've been adding, cutting, re-fining and re-writing; I think I've forgotten how scary it is to look at a blank Word Document. The router meltdown came at an opportune moment then because I would have procrastinated and/or written 5 pages of crud otherwise. I've collected tidbits of information on local wineries, wine-making, American Sign Language, and dyslexia so far to add to the "casting" of the characters. With all the space I've cleared in my work area, I think I'll be able to make proper character posters. Yay me!
