My cousin's wife is a) GORGEOUS and b) a fellow SV freak. For the Vancouver-half of our Geeky Vacation (the San Diego-half being Comic Con), I tracked down the SV locations for us to visit because I wanted someone to stalk with me I'm a good hostess. Here are the highlights. There are a few other locations we didn't hit up like the Luthorcorp Building, Ollie's apartment in Queen Tower, Luthor Mansion & the actual filming lot. Saving that up for next time. ;)
Metropolis
This isn't one of ours but it's a shot we almost always take when there are guests. It's a view from Stanley Park looking out across the bay to Downtown Vancouver which is, of course, Metropolis. They copy-paste a few more buildings, increase the height of the "Watchtower" building and, of course, add the globe for the DP.
The Daily Planet
This is an old photo I took on my phone because the ones we had on the trip feature my cousins not me. ;) When I want a good long, geeky walk with the dogs, I go this route and giggle to myself as I pass by.
Watchtower
This is close to the train I almost always take when I'm downtown. And I giggle.
The Talon
As soon as we turned the corner, my cousin's wife called out "THE TALON! I'd know Lois' apartment ANYWHERE!" And we parked right in front of it.
The Kent Farm
We drove into the farm while a film crew was wrapping up and asked the owners if we could take pictures just outside. They were SO ridiculously nice & gave us permission to take pictures on the porch, go inside the barn and even offered to open the gates up so we could walk down the "Kent driveway." But they were obviously on their way out so we demurred. The trail up to the "front" of the farm is a quick, easy walk. I felt quite giddy walking it as the gates loomed.
The owners also said we "missed John & Tom by a day." Their good fortune, really. ;)
BTW, my cousin took the shots. He didn't want to be in the pictures themselves because he was embarrassed by our squee.
