GUYS, GUYS, GUYS! All ye Americans probably know this but Half-Price Books ZOMG. Do you know how much paperbacks cost in Canada? $11+sales tax on average. CAD is almost equal to USD. Just THINK about that, ye Americans, and you'll understand why I don't understand how people can buy, like, 100 books a year and then trade half.
$1-3 PER BOOK. HOLY

It's $25 plus tax on average here, and we're just about at parity with the $US at the moment.

In general, this is why I go to used bookstores and avoid the big name new bookstores like the plague. Also, have you ever been to Powell's in Portland? I promise you will find it utterly amazing. :D

I guess you could say that. They had a Stumptown Comics Convention or something like that recently, and Powells is called "The City of Books". It takes up an entire city block and is so awesome you can get lost in t here for an entire day.

PS: Everything is So. Damn. Cheap. There's all you can eat pizza for $5 and all you can eat Japanese for $15 and WHOLE HOUSES WITH MULTIPLE BEDROOMS AND YARDS are under $200K!!! Do you know the living quarters you can buy with $200K in Vancouver? A Port-o-potty.
