Instead of writing
As you all know, I've had an SV!Arrows fic on the backburner for the last couple years. I didn't write it today either. Instead I manipped it. This fic was going on in my head before Crossfire which is why Mia is blonde, younger than Roy and not played by Elise Gatien.
The Royal Family Always has Drama
Left to right from the back:
Roy Harper-Queen (age 24)
- Ollie's first adopted child, adopted at age 12. He's the nephew of the Tommy Brave Bow, the man who taught Ollie archery. When Tommy died, he named Ollie as Roy's guardian. They have a rocky relationship partially due to Ollie's (lack of) parenting and Roy's on-and-off-drug use. When Roy was 17, he and Ollie had a major blow-out after Ollie found Roy's heroin stash. According to Roy, Ollie kicked him out; according to Ollie, Roy ran away. In any case, Clark eventually found him on the streets still using and brought him home to Lois who browbeat helped with his umpteenth bout of rehab.
Roy had an affair with an assassin he was supposed to arrest. The result (besides suspension) is his daughter Lian, whom he loves more than anything. Even more than dope. Because of her, he's been sober 2.5 years and counting.

Cissie Queen (age 16)
- Ollie's only biological child (that he knows of). Immediately after his break-up with Tess Mercer, post-island hell, Ollie went into a commune to try and focus again. He met Bonnie "Moonday" King and, because he's Ollie, things pretty much went the way you'd expect. Moonday wasn't the most stable individual, however, and soon became obsessive. When she became pregnant, she tried to use the child to blackmail Ollie into marrying her. Ollie left the commune in the middle of the night. Upon his return to Star City, he ordered his fleet of lawyers to do everything in their power to keep Moonday and her crazy away. Then he hopped over to Metropolis.
Cissie entered Ollie's life at age 9 when Bonnie (she dropped the Moonday) managed to get into Queen Plaza in Star City. (Coincidentally, Roy's heroin habit was skyrocketing at the same time.) She tried to use Cissie as blackmail material but Ollie (and his abashed fleet of lawyers) did damage control. He charged Bonnie with child abuse and criminal harassment then took over custody of Cissie. Life was looking up until Mia came along.

Mia Dearden-Queen (age 16)
- Ollie's second adopted child and the newest addition to the family. Mia ran away at 13 from a physically abusive home with her boyfriend. The boyfriend ended up being a low-time pimp. She did tricks with an occasional bit of smack to help the days go a little easier.She met Roy while he did his walking patrols-- he did rounds in Skid Row, handing out food coupons, sterile needles and condoms as part of his therapy. Mia was one of the few street girls who worked hard to get out; she found Roy's kindness suspiciously comforting. She was all for slowly sneaking back into society through one of Ollie's many shelters but her pimp found out about it and tried to beat her up. He failed. Mia didn't stay to see if he'd get his second wind.
Roy knew no judge on Earth would award an ex-junkie single father custody of a teenage prostitute, he so asked Ollie to intervene. She doesn't get along too well with "Princess" Cissie but the feeling is mutual.

Dinah Lance (age 33)
- Ollie's on-again, off-again girlfriend. Acting mother to all the children. Including Ollie. Especially Ollie. As one of the founding members of the Justice League, Dinah has considerable power in the heroing business. Her teammates respect her because she can control their heaving masses of testosterone. Criminals fear her because she can kick their ass ten ways to Sunday without ripping her fishnets. She's especially good with throwing knives. Oh yeah, and there's her sonic scream but she only uses that when things get boring.
She loves Ollie; she really does. He's got the biggest heart short of Clark Kent. He's also got the attention span of a squirrel and a pathological need to belong to a group. Most importantly, she knows that he'll never love her the way he loves being Green Arrow. One day, she'll give him up for good and settle down with a nice woman. Her only nondramatic relationships are with women anyway.

Oliver Queen (age 36)
- Really needs no introduction. Archery savant. Head of the Justice League (although he leaves the field command to Clark and Diana). Bleeding heart liberal commie pinko. Only binge drinks once every two or three years now. Possibly a compulsive adopter-of-waifs as a way to make up for his failings. Loves his children fiercely even though he doesn't know what to do with them. Loves Dinah, Clark and Lois fiercely because they do.

Lian Harper-Queen (age 4)
- Roy's daughter and Ollie's granddaughter. She loves Grampa very, very, very, very, very, very much. Not as much as Daddy but almost. She also loves penguins very, very, very much. Not as much as Grampa but almost.
