I...I...SCOTT'S CLONE???

This is brilliant. I don't know anything about what's going to happen in the film beyond what's depicted in the trailers, but I love this! Etienne was adorable and it's interesting that the school is headed by Forge now. (For some strange reason, I always thought Storm would carry out Xavier's dream. Hm.) I also love the way you portrayed Sabertooth -- his overall nastiness just shines through.

The end left me hanging, I want to read more stories in this universe! And Remy raising wee!Scott is part of my personal fanon for the X-movieverse now, because of you. :D

Strange things happen to my brain after watching a trailer 11 times. ;) So glad you enjoyed it. This was the fic that ATE my BRAIN in my dreams even.

Forge is the head of the high school classes. My movieverse!fanon has Ororo as headmaster of the school but her real speciality is social work not teaching so she has two head professors-- one for high school and one for middle/elementary school.

Just curious: Did you guess at any point before the last section that Etieene was Scott's clone? If so, when?

I didn't expect Etienne being Scott's clone at any point AT ALL. But I'm obtuse like that. :D

I was rereading the fic when I got to the part where Remy brandishes a diskette when I realized that the 'height of technology' in 1996 was the floppy disk and Windows 95 and noisy external modems and gif sparklies on the Net. Hee. :D

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Hear my joy, hear it. I adore this. It's brilliant. I love Remy. I love Etienne. I love everyone. I love you. There is wee indeed. Just... just on the spot and this is what happen in the movie. I won't accept anything else.

More? *hopeful star-filled stare*

Heee! Thanks ever so! I love you, too.

I don't think there'll be more (unless a miracle happens and the Wolverine!movie makes this story even remotely possible). But Remy lives.

PS: did you guess at any point before the last section that Etienne was Scott's clone? If so, when?

I had absolutely no idea little Etienne was Scott's clone. The way you wrote him, and the way he is described/seen/felt, I thought he was really Remy's kid (until the baby in tanks part), then I wasn't even thinking clone (but maybe mutant DNA reconposition with a whiff of Remy in the mix)

Etienne being Scott's clone... you just hit a lot of buttons.

YOU ARE AMAZING FOR WRITING THIS.

But fin? What about M'sieur LeBeau?

Awww, thank you! I'm 90% this is a one-shot unless there's a miracle and/or the Wolverine movie makes this possible and/or I can finish Azimuth on time (ha!)

But Remy will live because, as Rogue pointed out, he's got a reason to live.

I'm asking everyone this: did you guess at any point before the last section that Etienne was Scott's clone? If so, when?

I did not get that until he basically destroyed the mansion with his eye-beams. Density, I has it.

Did Scott have any part in the naming of Etienne? What with the "Christopher" part, I wondered.

God, I wish Jean was there just for more angst and confusion.

No, Scott had absolutely nothing to do with naming Etienne. That was all Remy. He's nominally Catholic so he would have had Etienne baptised and "Christopher" is a pretty comming baptismal name.

Jean should not get a second chance at resurrection. *L*

Also, as I've asked above, id you guess at any point before the last section that Etienne was Scott's clone? If so, when?

I thought at one point that he might be related to both due to wacky genetic tampering, but that would have been an insane coincidence. Clone wasn't even in my mind until it was said, although I thought Scott when he mentioned his eyes hurting. I thought they'd just taken samples from the mutants in their posession and mixed and matched for fun, and that Etienne was part Remy or part Scott. So until then, I thought offspring not clone.

Why is it that pertty much everything you write reduces me to keyboardsmash? I ask this in all seriousness, because HOLY CRAP it is taking SO MUCH control not to bang my hands against my laptop and click 'post comment' for whatever fangirlishness comes out. I am being SO GOOD, and it's all for you and this story ( ... )

Oh, thank you so very much for your very very lovely feedback Wow. Awesomesauce X 3000. Thank you!

I wish I could take all the of credit but I honestly dreamed 805 of this. I just tweaked it so that it would make sense and have more of a story flow, I'm glad other obsessive astute Gambit fans recognized Sabretooth's sick & twisted lottery.

Also, I've asked this of everyone who commented: Did you guess at any point before the last section that Etieene was Scott's clone? If so, when?

It's praise that's well deserved hun, even if it was mostly from a dream (which I think still counts as your doing, seeing as it was your dream and all, but whatever). Bask away.

It was at the point where Etienne was talking about the pain wanting to 'poke through his eyes' that I caught it. I felt very stupid and then on a second re-read totally started connecting the headaches and the whatnot together and saw what you were doing with the foreshadowing.
