Is baby corn really baby corn? I've always accepted its presentation as baby corn and, growing up, I've always been told it was baby corn. Knowing otherwise would not stop me from enjoying more baby corn (whether or not it was corn) in the future. I'm just wondering because my parents also told me frogs' legs were baby chickens to trick me into eating it. Which I promptly did because, yay! cute baby animals and vegetables in my mouth om nom nom nom!
Y'know, I don't know if that type of reaction towards the possibility of devouring baby animals/vegetables would be as prominent today in North American society. However I grew up upper middle class in a third world country where food was scarce or at least beef cattle and I really don't think carabaos are edible although I don't doubt someone has tried.
Also, apple-pears-- truly a hybrid between apples and pears?
