I wrote a whole long schpiel about how horrible my day has been and it only being 9:00 AM but then as I was editing it, I realised that I was whining and I hate whiners so I erased it. However, just to get it off my chest, I shall make a bullet point list of Things That Are Bugging Me
1) I had to lug heavy things for work last night and my shoulders ache
2) I've fallen behind in class readings again
3) I've been too busy working and studying to write because...
4) I spend half my life in transit
5) I've also been too tired to do anything because of #4
6) My sister hasn't been walking the dogs in the morning and I come down to puppies lying in their own pee.
7) There was some type of tiff concerning the car, my parents, and my sister and as this morning's sole remaining representative of the spawn that pulsed forth from twixt their loins, I also woke up to cranky parents.
*sighs* Okay, done now.
I have to catch up to studying but I want to write instead so I'll just do some weird comprimise that I'll undoubtedly regret. I'm going to answer the
timestamp meme from a couple days ago, walk the dogs, THEN do more notes until it's time for class again. FYI, I'm still open for more suggestions. God knows, Elemental - Part IV is going nowhere, especially since I remembered that a certain Alex scene is no longer valid because Alex now has an entirely different role.
Elemental - Past Interlude #3: the next day
I'm actually really glad you chose this 'cause I've had this scene floating around for Elemental for the longest time but I knew I'd never use it. Technically, this wouldn't really happen for another couple of days because the Summers' are good at passive-aggressiveness but I'll indulge ;) ~K
Remy crawled down to the kitchen and grunted at Scott who was staring out the window. He always stared out the window until his second cup of coffee for the day; Remy thought nothing of it. This morning, however, was the morning after he had his hands up Selena Ki's bra and since Alex could never sew his big mouth shut, Remy would have to do some damage control.
"You still tutoring after school?" he asked Scott as he poured his own cup of coffee.
Scott nodded. "I don't think I'll be home in time to pick Adam up."
"I'll do it," Remy said quickly.
Scott tilted his head sideways, just enough for Remy to see the coloured part of his eyes.
"What?" Remy demanded. Without waiting for Scott's inevitable accusations, Remy said, "She's just using you for the grades! She told me so herself."
"What if I want to be used for the grades?" asked Scott, his voice staying as composed as ever.
Remy's jaw dropped at that. "Scotty..." He had absolutely no comeback for that. He didn't even know where to start. "Scott..."
His brother pushed away from the sink. "I have to go wake Alex up. Dad left some breakfast in the oven; you need to make eggs though."
"Scott," Remy tried again.
But Scott had already disappeared up the second floor.
A moment from the the Prodigals series, set between 'Cryptic Love Letters' and 'The Depth and the Breadth and the Height'
When he slept, Remy reminded her of a dragon-- a sleek, oriental dragon surrounded by decadence, lean muscles barely visible under bright scales, or in this case, clothing. She reached out to tuck a lock of his shockingly blond hair behind his ear. He whuffled something too soft to hear and burrowed his face into the pillow.
The laptop on the floor chirped, the starfield on its screen morphing into a plain black background that asked for a login name and a password. Rogue slid in front of it to fill out the appropriate information.
"How much money are we going to get today, beautiful?" Remy's arms came around her shoulders, smoothly but always careful not to touch any skin. She bought clothes with texture, things that she knew he'd like to touch. He bought his clothes according to what she liked to touch, too.
"Your breath smells," said Rogue, playfully batting at his head. "Like vinegar and stale cigarettes."
In response, he squeezed her shoulders. "All the better to knock you out and have my evil way with you, sheri. Erase the one from Mitaki; he stiffed me out last time."
"How about this one from Pittsburgh?" Rogue pointed a the information. "It looks like it's right up out alley."
"You want to leave Vienna for Pittsburgh? Sheri, the hell were you drinkin' last night, hein?"
"I'm just saying, it sounds like a good pay off."
"Let's stay a little longer out here," said Remy. His hands trailed down her arms. "I like it here. You like it here."
She felt something tense in the air and she knew what the cause might be. But ti was too early in the morning and she enjoyed being with him too much to disturb the peace. She she stuck Pittsburgh in the back of her head and turned to nuzzle Remy's chest.
