so Clinton made up some ground yesterday, but obama is still the leading nominee. McCain, however, sealed the deal on the republican side.
i'm still pessimistic... i think Clinton will pull out on top. obama's steady rise has slowed down, and the only delegates left are the automatic delegates (or the super delegates). the automatic delegates that i have seen (or heard) interviewed over the past week all seem to be for Hillary, but, fortunately, there is some unease about voting against the leading nominee, so maybe they'll vote for obama.

unrelated to delegates and nominees: i had a 20 minute conversation with a customer yesterday about politics (i'm not allowed to talk about politics at work, so it was mainly him dictating his views to me). he was a Vietnam vet and was in the armed service for 28 years. real nice guy, and he said something that i thought was cool, though on the whole, i disagreed with his politics. he said "all i know is that when people start calling each other unpatriotic based on their position regarding one war, i get pissed, and politicians do that shit way too often."
