Pegasus 4 meanderings

The meet & greet on Friday [IMO] was scheduled somewhat on the late side and went on a long time. We enjoyed meeting the guests, but turnover was slow and it meant the party/disco afterward started very late.

On Saturday morning, I was on scanner duty for 2 hours. After about an hour, my scanner died. A nice man came and tinkered with it, but it refused to revive. So I sat there, waving people over to the remaining scanner. Lots of pantomimed arm movements!!!!

The first talk I saw was James Bamford talking about his extensive experience in stunt work. He spoke about the differences in the fighting styles of Rachel Luttrell and Jason Momoa. James has to make out more paperwork for the difficult stunts [like the fall off the casino roof onto airbags]. He talked about the difference in the stunt fighter registries in the UK and Canada/US.

James explained the process involved in hanging David Hewlett upside down in the tree! Also the fight between the two Sheppards in 'Doppleganger' which was mainly done with stunt doubles. James also talked about the fight in 'Prodigal', his own in 'Blade 3' and the car roll in 'Rampage'. His hardest stunt was in 'X Files' with David Duchovny's stunt double and involved James having to hit the side of a van with his whole body when he was already hurt.

Kavan

He talked about getting an early job in a gay bar [GG], then working on 'Outer Limits' with Alyssa Milano and having to fake orgasm eight times!!! He was naked apart from a strategically placed sock at the time....

If Lorne was in charge of Atlantis, he'd institute naked Twister for the newbies on base! Lorne will be in the Atlantis movie, but it's shelved for now.

Kavan talked about attempting to impress a young woman in a car when he was younger and spilling a slurpie all over himself!

Chuck Campbell

Dramatic hamster!! He's still trying to figure out which branch of the forces his character was in. Perhaps he was a ninja... He enjoyed being in the Seige 3-parter.

He talked quite a bit about doing the two face guy in 'Sanctuary'. He loved doing 'Lonesome Dove', 'Band of Brothers' and 'Gilbert Grape'. He did a lovely impression of David Caruso's sunglasses sweep!!

On the Sunday, he did the promised, "Jack Nicholson as a cop pulling over Joe Flanigan". It was hilarious!

James Bamford put on the promised stunt fight demo with three professionals and a pre-arranged lady who is a Tae Kwon Do black belt. This was truly amazing.

Chris Heyerdahl

He's 6ft 4". Wiry and lithe with it and an absolute sweetheart. He talked a lot about Todd and Bigfoot.

He asked if there was a 'ship' for Todd/Sheppard. When people said that there was he seemed very enthusiastic and described Sheppard as 'delicious'! Todd = 10,000 years old; he's a survivor. Druitt = seaching for redemption. Chris enjoys the person he's playing at the time.
Just played Alastair on 'Supernatural'. Chris likes his hands and feet best. Played Nosferatu and took the costume home and had fun with it, with his Significant Other at the time [gender unknown]. I asked him about Thor Heyerdhal and he gave a beautifully considered answer.

Paul

Burns night - WHERE'S MY HAGGIS?!? Talked about Joe loading them with a heavy 'extra' on a stretcher and rocks in the back-packs! His worst moments are still THAT KISS with David and the cave scene. He visualised his own mother as Becket's Mum. He told a beautiful story bout meeting a young boy in Belfast who gave Paul a piece of his birthday cake, but hadn't got anything like enough money for a picture, so Paul gave him one for free as a present. Paul said that moments like this made EVERTHING else worthwhile.

Masquerade

Two Wraith Queens, Get inside your hero [Teal'c], Dog's Breakfast ['Paul', 'David', canoe!], Puddlejumper [2 people inside it!], Wraiths plus worshippers, Teyla [2 different versions], Athosian woman, Atlantis nightmare, me [Todd, in honour of Christopher]. I think that was everyone....
