Rally in Chicago to protest Russian invasion of Ukraine and support US military assistance
Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, Illinois Division, Orange Wave, Chicago Automaidan & Ukrainian Women in Business invite you to attend a rally to be held on the first anniversary of the "The Heavenly Hundred", when over 100 peaceful protestors were gunned down by government snipers during the Maidan protests in Kyiv. The Rally will include a memorial prayer service for the fallen heroes that will be presided over by religious leaders from local churches.
The Rally will send President Barack Obama an Open Appeal to act upon his assurances in the State of the Union address: "We're upholding the principle that bigger nations can't bully the small -- by opposing Russian aggression, and supporting Ukraine's democracy, and reassuring our NATO allies."
Friends of Ukraine, including Chicago area Members of Congress, state and local officials, and civic leaders, as well as Ukrainian and European government representatives in Illinois, have been invited to participate.
A prayer service will take place inside Sts. Volodymyr & Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church prior to the rally at 1 PM
