Hello, and welcome to my Chocolate Box 2019 letter, which, like all my exchange letters, is about 80% recycled from previous ones! There's also not much here that's not in my signup, but I know some writers like the letter format better anyway, so here we are. As usual, I signed up at the last minute like some kind of loser with poor time management skills, and I'm requesting a fair number of things that are new to me, so some of the optional details are a little bare-bones, which I assure you has nothing to do with how much I love any given canon/ship and everything to do with what order I wrote them in as the deadline came crashing down upon me.
When specific prompts are given, they're generally more intended as guidance/brainstorming help than being ideas that I'm really married to, so feel free to disregard them entirely. Most of the stuff I like has very little fic and I am consequently super easy to please. If I say I'd like anything at all that you want to write about a particular ship, I really do mean it (barring inclusion of DNWs, obviously).
General likes: established romantic relationships, bittersweetness, hurt/comfort, canon-divergence AUs, non-mundane genre AUs, crossdressing, loyalty and lady/knight sort of dynamics, battle couples, characters protecting each other/saving each other's lives (in pretty much any context, not necessarily battle), action/casefic/etc. A-plot with romance B-plot or vice versa, smut featuring characters over 16
General DNWs: non-canon pregnancy or kidfic, fic heavily focused on children/parenting, issuefic, death of requested characters unless they're dead in canon, fic primarily focused on one of the requested characters being dead in canon, noncon, mundane AUs, crossovers, vore or guro (as kinks), non-requested non-canon ships (including poly ships that involve the requested ship plus one or more other characters), non-requested canon ships as a major focus of the fic, smut featuring characters under 16 (unless aged up), characters' genders being different from canon unless otherwise specified (though e.g. writing a female character as a trans woman would be okay with me)
I'm requesting fanfic in all the below fandoms. Any POV or tense is fine; my only stylistic request is that there be proper capitalization, because I find things easier to read that way.
Ace Attorney
Lana Skye/Mia Fey: They totally had a thing in law school, so if you want to write me something about their passionate intellectual attraction and long nights of studying together, I'm up for it. (I kind of feel young Lana would be the type to
stage a whole mock trial to figure out whether Mia likes her.) Or something about their early careers! Did they ever have to go up against each other in court? Canon divergence AUs where Mia doesn't die are always welcome.
Adrian Andrews/Franziska von Karma: I think immediately post-(the relevant part of) canon is an interesting time to explore for these two. I think Adrian, by the end of the trial she appears in, doesn't have much reason to put on the cool-and-aloof act because Franziska already knows it's an act, Franziska still has something to lose by letting her guard down, both in general and, in the ship-specific context, what if revealing that she is actually a human being with flaws and vulnerabilities makes Adrian's attitude go from "life goals or wife goals" to "ugh, go away, you loser" or something? So... basically "two prickly, difficult people who are not good at talking about their feelings somehow awkwardly manage to have a romantic relationship anyway" is a thing that I enjoy. If you want to skip ahead, that's cool too--what the heck are they up to in the series' current timeline, anyway?
Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword (or Blade, or whatever)
Florina/Lyn: Love the lady/knight loyalty kink dynamic, love the added twist that Lyn is also a fighter and fairly protective of Florina herself. Post-paired ending would be great (albeit not focusing on the part where they eventually part ways again), but I'm also up for stuff set during the game in the vein of their support convos, moments together during their downtime in the army camp. Feel free to completely ignore the events of Binding Blade.
Nino/Rebecca: Their supports are super cute and I really just want more of that, except more explicitly romantic. (Though, considering they're fighting a war and considering Nino's childhood, it doesn't have to be unremitting fluff.) Working together on the battlefield is great, hurt/comfort is great, Rebecca introducing Nino to things that are unremarkable to Rebecca but that Nino has never experienced before is great.
Fire Emblem Heroes
Fjorm/Laegjarn: I'm a sucker for those "we're on opposite sides of a conflict, but if only we'd met under other circumstances..." ships, and I'd love to see more moments between these two, on the battlefield or with one of them captive or under whatever circumstances you can come up with. Make it tragic, go AU and have Laegjarn defect to the side of good in grand Fire Emblem tradition, or just leave it as a series of tense stolen moments with no definitive resolution--I'm happy with any of those. Or, now that Laegjarn is summonable (twice over, even!), explore the relationship between Fjorm and a summoned Laegjarn--what happens when they suddenly find themselves on the same side after all?
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Urbosa/Zelda: I thought their interactions in the flashbacks were really sweet and would love more vignettes like that from the period leading up to the doomed fight with Ganon (but obviously with a more romantic slant and without Link present). Alternatively, I'm always up for a fix-it AU, which I think in this case would have to entail a sort of Urbosa-Link role swap--although of course, minimum length being what it is, I'm talking more "a brief scene from the universe in which this is the case" than "fully explore the ramifications of this change."
Nana (Anime & Manga)
Komatsu Nana/Oosaki Nana: These two love each other so much and I spent the entire anime wanting them to ditch their respective guys and ride off into the metaphorical sunset. And make out. My desires here are not complicated, is what I'm saying. Anything, whether it's them reuniting post-canon or getting together at some earlier point or something where it's just taken for granted that they're already girlfriends, will make me happy, as long as they're happy.
I have only seen the anime; I don't mind references to manga-only events, but I'd rather they not be, you know, necessary to understand the story.
Nier
Kainé/Yonah: I'm usually more flexible about where fics are set in the timeline, but in this case I am really mostly interested in post-Ending D stuff. I'd love to see the connection they have based on someone neither of them remembers develop into a more genuine connection, and to see them carve out just a little bit of happiness and peace for themselves, as much as that's possible in that world.
Persona 5
Niijima Makoto/Okumura Haru: I was sold on this as soon as Haru said that Makoto looked good in her biker outfit, honestly. During-canon fic is great, and I'd also be interested in near-future fic--what happens when they go to university? How do they support each other in dealing with their respective legacies and ambitions?
Niijima Makoto/Takamaki Ann: This is another ship where I enjoy the interplay between someone who's kind of an uptight nerd who's bad with people and someone who's more outgoing and spontaneous--I'd love to see Ann getting Makoto to try things she wouldn't normally do. I also feel like this is potentially a good ship for the kind of mutual pining where each assumes the other is out of their league (Ann is a model! She's beautiful and vivacious and so many people must want to date her! vs. Makoto is the class president! She's so smart and responsible and everybody looks up to her! That kind of thing.)
Niijima Sae/Takemi Tae: I'd love to see these two interact, in whatever context--my go-to for engineering meetings involving at least one investigator-type character is for them to run into the other character in some capacity during an investigation, but hey, maybe Sae happens to get injured while in Yongen-Jaya and winds up at Tae's clinic because it's the only one around, or maybe they just run into each other socially somewhere. I feel like they're the type who have a decent amount in common but would superficially rub each other the wrong way at first, which I always find fun. (Also, considering Shadow Sae, does Sae secretly wish she could get away with dressing the way Tae does? Just a thought.)
Suzui Shiho/Takamaki Ann: So much of Ann's social link is about how much she loves Shiho, and I really enjoyed the glimpses of their relationship that we got through that, from the touching moments about how much Ann admires Shiho to the fact that they became friends because Shiho insulted Ann's painting and Ann thought it was hilarious (an A+ meet-cute in my book). I'm mostly interested in fic set after Shiho gets out of the hospital--not necessarily very long after, though if you want to explore what happens with their relationship when they're in college or after, that's good too.
Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight
For either ship here, I'd enjoy post-canon fic. I feel like the series kind of ends on a big "what now?" because it's been demonstrated that the system these girls have built their lives around is both artificial (i.e. not something that necessarily has to exist) and damaging, but, you know, they've built their lives around it, so what do they do with that?
Daiba Nana/Hoshimi Junna: It's implied that not much changed in the time loops Nana lived through before the one where Karen jumped into the duels, but her relationship with Junna can't have been exactly the same every time, if only because with each loop the gap between what Nana knows/has experienced and what Junna knows/has experienced gets bigger. I'd love something exploring that aspect of their relationship.
Saijou Claudine/Tendou Maya: I adore rivals-to-lovers, and while we pretty much get that whole arc in the show, I'd love to see that rival dynamic persist into their romantic relationship. Like, by the end of the show, they've clearly talked some things out and they're trying, but old habits die hard, you know? Claudine aggressively trying to be a better girlfriend than Maya (just in general, or better at romantic occasions like Valentine's Day/Christmas/their anniversary, or better at sex, or whatever) would be A+.
Umineko no Naku Koro ni
Furudo Erika/Dlanor A. Knox: I enjoy Erika's possessiveness of her murder doll and that Dlanor does see herself as a tool to be used by Erika and has some kind of loyalty to her but at the same time is not uncritical of Erika's... everything. It's super fucked up! But also, like... probably the closest either of them gets to a genuine attachment to anybody (barring Dlanor's dead dad)? And I enjoy stuff that straddles that fucked up/"actually kind of sweet, in a weird way?" line. (Side note: I am legitimately shocked that someone other than me nominated this ship, although disappointed that whoever it was apparently didn't request it. Still, whoever you are, I appreciate you.)
Mammon/Ushiromiya Ange: I really loved their relationship in the game, with Mammon as Ange's first friend, and even though she's this non-human being driven by greed, she gets so angry on Ange's behalf when Ange is mistreated, and she really does seem to care, in her own way. I can imagine Ange's feelings for her shading into romance (especially since Ange is so lonely), although of course any kind of relationship would be complicated by Mammon's status as furniture and the fact that she's.... a non-human being driven by greed. I'd be interested in both fic set when Ange is at boarding school and fic set during the game's "present day" after Ange becomes able to summon the Stakes again.
