(((This occurs right after the break up and then well on into the last week, while I was MIA. Probably not one of my best, but it does get the point across. Includes pictures.))

So take this moment Mary Jane and be selfish
Worry not about the cars that go by
All that matters Mary Jane is your freedom
Keep warm my dear, keep dry
Tell me
Tell me

Hours had passed and she was still crying. It was like this every night. She knew things were never going to be the same, but she never thought it would end.

Ellie finally got up, her legs cramping up from being stationary for so long. Her father would be home soon and he had really wanted her to talk to her mom. Perhaps she was home and maybe Dan was gone. Could their family be rebuilt?

Ellie walked the two blocks to her mom’s house. She hoped she hadn’t changed the locks by now. Key in hand, she was relieved went the door unlocked. She walked inside. It was dark and here was no sign of her mother or Dan.

She walked around the living room, nothing had changed, nothing except the pictures. Pictures of her and her father were replaced of ones of her mother and Dan.

((ok. Obviously I can’t find pics of her mom and some other guy))

Ellie propped herself on the wall, trying to balance herself, feeling as if she was going to faint.

There were no tears left to shed. She ran upstairs to her room and upon opening it was surprised at what she saw. Her belongings were all pushed to the side to make room for gym equipment.

She sank down to the floor. get a grip of yourself Ellie She told herself. She nodded and propped herself up on the door frame. After gaining composure she walked down stairs and laid down on the couch. She stared at the all too familiar liquor cabinet her mother had.

If the alcohol had helped her mom and it most certainly seemed to have helped Spinner, maybe it would work its magic on her. Almost instantaneously, she got up and walked into the kitchen to get the key above the refrigerator that locked the cabinet.

It was easy enough to open. But she felt a heavy burden on her shoulders. She had been against drinking, promised herself to never taste the poison that did her mom and Spinner in, but now she almost wanted to taste the splendor. Her way of thinking had completely gone astray.

She grabbed a bottle of vodka. It was small, but she knew how much damage that clear bottle of liquid would do. She walked upstairs back to her room and set the bottle down on her dresser which was cramped next to her bed.

What the hell could be so bad about a clear drink, it looked almost pure. NO! She shook herself mentally. Maybe this was her conscious telling her to stop. She grabbed the bottle and opened her dresser drawer, throwing it violently in there.

The bottle cracked in half, soaking her undergarments with its alluring scent, tempting as it was and the sour taste tingled her nose, she could almost taste it.

She took the bottle out carefully, half was still left. She took a deep breath and carefully put the bottle to her lips. The pungent smell filled her nostrils once again. She closed her eyes tightly as she took a swig. It was an instant burn down her throat and to the pit of her stomach, where it felt as if it were on fire.

She finally exhaled, her eyes teared up, but she felt a sigh of relief overcome her, dare she say even a numbing sensation. Her eyes were glazed over by the time she finished the rest of the bottle. She staggered downstairs and took out another bottle, this time Jack.

She could only finish a fourth of the bottle before feeling sick to her stomach. She walked outside to get some fresh air. She ended up at the bus station, blocks away. A bus was waiting and she took it as a calling. She paid the 1.25 to get on and sat down in the back.

She fell asleep.

She was walking down an empty street to the park. The route was familiar as she walked through the woods in the back of the park to get to the lake her and Spinner had spent so much time at.

She saw a figure standing by the lake. It was Spinner, it had to be, he was the only one who knew of the lake as far as she was concerned. She ran up to him and put her hand on his shoulder. The figure turned around and it was

“JAY!” She woke up startled and in a cold sweat. She immediately put her hands to her throbbing head. She pulled the wire to stop the bus and got off, finding herself in

Jay’s infamous spot. WAKE UP! she yelled to herself, but she wasn’t dreaming. She wandered around Montreal to a park and sat down on a picnic table looking up at the stars.

She saw a shooting star. Make a wish She closed her eyes. For everything to be okay again she whispered.

Suddenly, her phone rang. She jumped and answered it.

“Ellie?”

“Jay…” It was Jay…How could it possibly be Jay, of all people.

“Where are you? D’s been having me look all over Toronto for you, saying you never came home.”

“Um..” she winced, her hangover still fresh.

“Where are you?” He said again

“Montreal”

He came to get her and hour later. She got in the car.

“Why the fuck did you come here?” he asked looking over at her.

“Don’t take me back”

“What happened?”

Ellie finally told him exactly what had happened. The break up, the drinking she did.

“I told you Ellie, Spinner is an asshole. Guess you finally figured that out.”

She didn’t want to argue.

“I’ll take you back to D’s.”

She went back to D’s, but she would go over Jay’s for the rest of the week when Heather was not around. During that week they had gotten to know each other better than they had before.

((----Okay that was the past. Now this is recent, as in just happened-----And this is from Ellie’s pov.))

They were sitting in his bed watching a movie. She rested her head on his shoulder comfortably. They had become good friends again. She smiled to herself. This week was one of the best she had had in a long while, even Spinner calling her a few days prior couldn’t shake things up.

Dare she admit that she was happy, happy to have Jay’s arm around her as they watched the movie, happy to fall asleep next to him after one of their nights together, hanging out watching movies.

He broke the silence, though it was comforting.

“El?”

“Hm?” she looked up at him.

He placed a soft kiss on her lips. She pulled away.

“Wh- what are you doing?” she asked.

“Kissing you” He put a hand to her cheek and kissed her again, this time making it more meaningful.

The movie was long over by the time she broke the kiss again. She looked up at him and he looked at her, moving a strand of hair from her face. Words didn’t need to be spoken.
