About The Character Thirteen On House M.D.....
Okay, lets get one thing straight. Unlike most in the fandom seems to --- I do NOT hate Thirteeen. I mean, I'm not thrilled but I do not hate her. As a matter of fact, I to an extent support her. Why? Because I am bi - sexual myself. And it is very rare to see someone of this particular orientation on television, ECSPECIALY as a main character, ECSPECIALLY on a mainstream show like House. A problem I have with her though is that I DO NOT like how promiscuous they're making her look. Bi-sexual people are often reffered to as "sexually greedy" and just flat out "whores". This is NOT true. I mean I'm sure it is for SOME people, but I know it isn't for me and many others. I am bi-sexual because when I fall in love with a beautiful person (and I mean on the inside and out), thats exactly what I do --- whether boy or girl. Gender is not a issue to me. I do not see gender. But it is not nessicarily sex that I want. I know that they blame Thirteen's promiscuouity mostly on her Huntington's and the fact that shes "dying" but still I think that her sexual orientation adds to it.
Now the thing is, I know shes been settling down with Foreman (honestly not who I would I have picked for her but its fine I guess. And NO, its not "because hes black") and that makes me happy in a way. Because its kind of like "See?? Bi people can settlle down too." I just kind of wished she had settled down with a girl, because it feels like they only showed her being "naughty" when she was hooking up with women. But then a GUY comes along and evens her out. I WANT to see that Thirteen has multiple dimensions to her, and isn't just some whore that needed a man to tame her. But I mean yeah, the writers have characterized her well otherwise. And yes, in a sense I do like Thirteen, but my feelings for her do remain very mixed.
My biggest problem with her is of course is that she takes away from Chase and Cameron's screentime. Now if we sorted that out, and made it more like: C&C > 13, then YES, that would help me like Thirteen A LOT more. But of course... the writers don't care. =( *SIGH*
She IS really hot though. Just adding that in.
