Ok. So I'm back from Europe and now my life is a mess. Europe was pretty cool. ^-^ A overview of some of the cities:
Amsterdam : I stayed near the Red Light District. Half the streets smelled like pot. -_-. But the shopping was awesome! (I didn't buy much though... and practically none of the shoes fit... they'll all like size 8 and up usually...) And some of the museums were pretty cool (the Van Gogh Museum was kinda iffy though... you get tired of reading "This artist was heavily influenced by Van Gogh becuase you see he also: used green/used short strokes/used bold colours/did a self portrain/etc."). [So according to the Van Gogh Museum Van Gogh had a influence on basically anyone who *insert some really silly/random thing here*]
Cologne (aka Koln) : I love this city! So nice and much quieter than Amsterdam (although the service in Amsterdam is much better). It's much cleaner and the cathedral was so amazing! It was huge! We went up one of the towers in the Cathedral, it so so nice! Oh, and the bakeries were awesome!! THe side markets also had food, and there was a Starbucks. THe food there was cheaper than in Amsterdam.
Paris : Loud, noisy Paris. A place to avoid unless you have perfect French. Some people are quite snobby about their language. They did take pity on me becuase my French was so bad though. XD. The food was amazing! I loved the food and the bakeries. But the prices were a bit steep... The Eiffel tower was so cold! lol. It was cool though (no pun intended XD ). The Louvre was so wow... It was huge and a total sensory overload. But the Mona Lisa a bit of a let down... There are way too many tourists in Paris and it made the whole trip less enjoyable. And the churches/cathedrals in Paris can't compare to the one in Cologne.
Leuven : I love this city! (But then I did grow up [4.5 years of my life anyway] there) Anyway, the waffels there are the best! I want a waffel maker now just so I can try to make it at home! lol. Also the food prices are amazingly awesome. We got so much fries for 2 euros. My dad and I had trouble finishing it! But Leuven isn't a tourist town, it's a university/high school town... I loved it though! XD
Afterthoughts: I don't make a very good tourist. Apparently I should have bought more touristy things instead of normal things -_-... And I should probably start hadning out those Christmas present... :|
