SIX. [Accidental Voice/Action]

Jun 05, 2010 01:06

[The post begins with a soft, scarcely audible thump: the falling journal's trip from atop a table was cushioned by landing on something soft. It was still jarring enough to flip it open and begin recording, though. The light is just dim enough that one could probably tell that there is a candle atop the table that Fenimore is trying to steady ( Read more... )

[Action] I am proud to take the blame for this post prayingone June 5 2010, 23:24:39 UTC
[Shirley, who was outside folding towels off of the clothesline because Ferines house says SCREW TECHNOLOGY we come from fantasyland, has missed all of Fenimore's journal shenanigans. She certainly isn't intending to crash Fenimore's bath: the door to the bathroom is usually kept closed and it's locked when in use. She's just innocently coming into the room to put a basket of those nice clean bath towels away.

You really should've locked that door, Fenimore. Not that it probably would have helped -- this bath appears to be cursed.]

... ah-!

[Action] as you should. even though I am as much to blame for going through with it xelhes June 5 2010, 23:46:00 UTC
[So, by the time Shirley has made it in, Fenimore has gotten sick of these journal shenanigans and has decided to do something about it. Now that the journal's camera, or whatever it has, has been blocked by a thrown towel, Fenimore feels safe to get to her knees in the tub and lean over to close the journal shut. After all, no one's going to see her now.

When she hears Shirley's voice, she thinks it must have come from the journal for a second. But she's already closed it and it sounded like it was coming from a different direction. As such, she looks up towards the source of the noise.]

--huh?

[Action] then let us share the blame. and the pride. prayingone June 6 2010, 05:20:53 UTC
[This is Shirley. She is currently cowering behind a basket of bath towels, doing her best not to see anything and oh Nerifes she needs to put the basket down to get the door again and leave Fenimore in peace but if she puts the basket down she might see something and and and --]

I....... -- I'm sorry, Fenimore!

Ah--! [And now there is a splash as Fenimore dives back into the bath and takes advantage of the remaining bubbles for cover. Some of the water splashes onto the floor in her haste.]

Shirley, what are you doing in here?

I-I'm -- I, I mean... I was putting towels away! I'm sorry! [Not really looking as to where she's putting the basket because of how she's tightly closed her eyes, Shirley drops the bascket on the floor; a few of the towels spill over the edge onto the floor. Now, she turns to try and fumble for the door. The key word here is "try," considering that she's keeping her eyes closed.

... she may just have bumped into the wall in her haste to try and find the door. Derp.]

[Fenimore nearly gets out of the bath to make sure Shirley's okay after walking into the wall, just instinctively, but that would probably just make the situation worse and Shirley didn't look hurt.] Are you okay?

I-I'm fine... [She's more flustered over walking in on Fenimore in the bath, really. With a little more scrabbling, she finally finds the door and its knob.] ... I'm really, really sorry!...

[And with that, she is making her escape. Oh, Nerifes, she has never been so embarrassed since ever.]

No, it's o-- ["--kay. You can open your eyes again; I'm covered by the bath." But that gets stopped as Shirley vanishes outside.

...Well, it's not like she wants to call Shirley back while she's still, you know, completely naked and all. She could let Shirley know that there was no need to apologise later. What she could do right now was to make a mental note to make it more obvious that the bath was occupied in future.

This will probably be amusing in hindsight, but right now it's just embarrassing.

She looks down at the basket. ...Well, at least now she didn't have to dry off with the towel that she had thrown on the floor.]
