so saturday night after a few drinks, i decided to ride to the shops for cigarettes for the housemates and myself. it was a cruisy minute and a half ride there.. a brief exchange... and then a very speeded ride back.. that is until i decided to be a hero and try and get some air off of a curb. it didn't go well. i landed on my face.
i ended up with two fingers and a thumb on my right hand being cut up pretty bad at the joints, and a scrape at the base of my palm on the same hand. my right knee got scrapped good too. bloody and pussy. my left elbow is not as bad, but still suffered. my left outer calf in pain and bruised. i got a bloody (meg ryan like in appearance) lip. a bruised, grazed left cheek bone and chin.
i jumped back on the bike and rode home, pleading for help.. staring at my fingers whilst my flesh stared back at me. eva and cieron tended to me.. i passed out for about 2 seconds, they forced me up.
after a bit of a quick fix and a little makeup, i decided to keep drinking and go out and party all night. had a fun time at the market. even picked up.
and the next day... i REALISED the extent of my injuries when i was in the shower about to pass out again because the sight of my fingers and my knee grossed me out so much. i had to hug the sink and drink cold water until things faded back from black.
i went to the doctor on monday and was given a tetnus shot, a course of anti-biotics and until thursday off of work. my fingers look as though they are infected. my thumb and knee are okay.. and my face is healing fast. but i've faced alot of discomfort.. especially yesterday after the tetnus. not a limb was spared!
i wanted to go to work, but i really don't know how i would manage to pick up boxes, open them, put things on show, put cd/dvds in security cases, operate a register, a rf gun, anything. SHOULD be okay by thursday. thank god for sick pay is all i can say (i knew i was saving it for a reason).
in short, i look like i've been beaten up and punched a brick wall.. and i feel like the biggest tool. but i'm pretty sure i won't be riding bicycles while drunk again... well at least not 'til my hand is better.
