Alan Alda's "Never Have Your Dog Stuffed" = extra high recommendation to everybody. That's everybody as in you, your friends, your mom, your dad, your grandma, and your pet. Book on tape for the last one.
Max Brook's "World War Z" = high recommendation to anybody that's ever put thought into an emergency zombie plan. ANY thought. Whatsoever. That means everybody. You know you have. You're thinking about it right now. Food? Escape? Open field? Barracade in? What if it lasts more than a few months? Years? Shouldn't you get somewhere more long-term before there are too many zombies? Yeah. Read the book.
Jeff Povey's "The Serial Killers Club" = recommendation to those who haven't read a good murder book in a while. It's really fast paced, introduces a lot of good characters, and foreshadows everything that doesn't even come close to happening at the end. I thought I had everything figured out and was all "oh hell yeah this is gonna end great" and then not a single thought I had was remotely close. Good read.
Next on the firing range: Philip Pullman's "The Golden Compass". Any other recommendations after I'm finished?
