you know what's disheartening? when you speak to someone you haven't spoken to for two years, and they have not changed a bit. when this person actually says to you, "don't get mad because my life's tragedies always upstage yours" after you talk about a recent death (and this person mentions a death that happened when he was six years old). some things never change. and some people are better left not being talked to. i'd like to press rewind and totally erase certain people from ever being in my life, and it is a damn shame that i can't.
