I doubt anyone would be spoilered as heck I'm two years behind but just to be safe, HERE BE SPOILERS FOR SEASON 2 FINALE OF GAME OF THRONES!!!!!
Ok so as I posted earlier I have been speeding my way through Game of Thrones, managed to get through the 20 episodes of the first and second seasons within a week and well enjoyed the hell out of it!
After the almighty siege which took up most of the previous episode, the continual focus on the people in King's Landing clearly justixposed the previous switch location and character edits of the previous 17 episodes, it was a return of the globe-trotting. That another great thing about the show is the way that one minute your ass deep in snow drifts and grey scaled lighting, the next your sunning yourselves along with lords and ladies in the rich golds and yellow heat of what could be the Southern Medd.
Have to say it is an emotional one for a number of dear characters of mine with a couple of touching scenes between Tyrion and his lady love as well as a surprise reunion for Daenerys. Both got a brought a little tear to the eye.
What stole the show, you guessed it, the arrival of the White Walkers. I had been spoilered as to the appearance of one which looks to be a commander, yet nothing prepared me for seeing the horde! One of the first to hit the screen was one particular beauty missing his lower jaw in such detail it was on the par with anything to date on The Walking Dead . A thought which prompted giggling at the idea of a Harry Hill's TV Burp esq 'Walker Off' between the two shows. Really wonder what both SFX guys were thinking as they designed them or if TWD team were impressed by their showing. The effects were wonderful though did think I saw the exact same bear chested walker twice wondering through the crowd as the camera panned overhead. Then again probably was wrong lol.
Anyone else get a Sam Gamgee from Lord of the Rings vibe from Sam of the Black Watch? The main scene that started it was earlier in the series when he stops John Snow from running to aid his brother. Sweet little moment but my Geek scene ruined it by flashing the end of Fellowship of the Ring.
Well roll on Season 3, just got to wait for the 11 other people before me in the library reserve list to get through with it first!
