(no subject)
Last night, when I was walking t my car after work, a womyn almost got hit by a fucking mini-bus! I turned the block, and she was about a block a head of me, but I was walking faster, so I went to the other side of the street, as to avoid walking up from behind her at night. By the time I'm just about even with her, but on other sides of the street, she passes into a crosswalk. Right then, a hospital courtesy shuttle, turns into the crosswalk, and guns it! I lost sight of her in front of the buss, but I then see her come flying out from in front of it! She literally had to jump out of the buses way to save her life! She was fucking frazz;ed as fuck! She yelled out, "THAT WAS...SCARY!" I yelled, "Are you ok?" She just looked over at me, mouth agape, and walked off. I tried to chase down the bus, but that mother fucker was out of there!
In other news...
Just got out of the studio finishing up my first full length album! It sounds really good, and I think we decided on a pretty good track order, so that the fast songs, the mosh songs, the metal songs, and the crucial mid-tempo 90's songs all complement each other. I think we're gonna put up "Dollar Signs To The Industry" on our myspace (myspace.com/gather) as soon as it get's mastered, because it's got a lil' bit o' errting in it.
Went camping in the Henry Cowell redwoods a couple weeks ago. The showers were non-existant, but the banana slugs were abundant. I also saw a skink, right as an old hiker with cataracts stepped on it. Luckily it was on sand, and the skink just sunk into the sand, and then went on his way ( a little flustered). It was funny, as soon as I saw the skink, I jumped to the side, to avoid stepping o it,but the oncoming old-hker thought I stumbled, and so he says, "WHoa - watch your step," as he literally steps on an animal. I thought the irony was at least level orange in that situation.
I'm going hiking in Marin (just north of SF, all green!) for the first time, today! Should be amazing. Alison and I are gonna hit it up! We've been close compainons, lately, which has been awesome. Eating healthy shit together and doing amost everything together has been cool. She showed me a message that her Dad left he ron her cell phone, and it cleared up exactly why she the way she is! I can no longer be justifiably irritated by phone messages about innane things in great detail. They are now officially cute. :)
For all my friends reading this into HxC: The new Maroon "When Worlds Collide" id definitely the best album of 2006 - it's almost perfect. Such lovely lyrics as, "HANDS OFF THE ANIMALS," and Fuck your god, you are your own master," and "This is the last bloody axe to your face." Wow. Such a breadth of topics addressed. The new 'Path' album? Yuck - the only good thing about it is a picture of Katie moshing in it. The new 'First Blood' Still love the band, gotta have allegiance to Nor Cal hXc, but it's lukewarm at best. The new Morrissey? I think people will appreciate it more in 8 years, or so, when it's, like, 'classic' or whatever. It's kind of hard to view Morrissey as anything else but nostalgic, even when he's right here, writing new shit today.
