between a mirror and a reflection

Mar 05, 2007 19:19

so since ive been in all these poetry classes ive been learning how to craft my writings into acctual real guidelines of poetry. being bored as hell in my philosophy class i wrote 2. the first ones finished, the second one im still working on.

"Cowboys and Indians"
Everythings different in the sunshine
what was once true covered in night
changes fast with the morning light.
One remembers, ones forgotten
lost amoung the sheets of cotton.
Hiding behind that fake smile
are tears held back for awhile.
One holds back, and one feels nothing
each of them is hideing something.
One thinks he other feels the same
and if they dont, then theyre to blame
for getting themselves in too deep.
Everything is resolved in sleep.
Both of them wake to a new day
and each on goes their separate way.

"Between A Mirror and A Reflection"

What imperfect perfection she holds in her grace
with dark hair that contrasts her innocent face.
With lips so pink, her cheeks are jealous
and all the stories her eyes dont tell us.
She hides all her scars under her skin
with every new lesson they sink farther in.
She curves just like a question mark
and when she laughs, ignites a spark.

the second ones not finished. but im very pleased with the titles i gave them.
