Tonight Adam and I went to Amherst to see Daniel Tosh, aka Tosh.O
I haven't been to UMass Amherst since 2007, and I barely remember it because I was hungover, puking, and blind in one eye. It's so faaarr from Boston, definitely a 2 hour trip into the middle of nowhere.
Being at the UMass Amherst campus always overwhelms me. I couldn't imagine going to a college that is basically an ENTIRE TOWN and you have to take buses or drive everywhere. I'm not sure I'd like it. It's strange to think if Karyn had never transferred out Freshmen year, I would've visited there all the time. I must say, I cherished my time at UMass Boston and now at MassArt.
We left Boston at 5pm, and got to the Mullins Center a little before 7pm. We had center 9th row seats on the floor, though the set-up was weird. For a hockey arena, usually the stage is at the end of the rink. Nope, they set the stage up to the side (weird.) Weird to think a band like NIN actually played in such a small arena, too, it's like half the size of TD Banknorth. Anyway, as soon as the acts started, all the people who came in late happened to be sitting right beside or infront of us, and that was annoying having to get up every 30 seconds to let stupid people walk by. And then I had some huge businessman beside me who wouldn't stop putting his leg on mine, and then the leg would spasm/shake. I would purposely scoot over because this dude was ONTOP of my leg. And then he even made phone calls during the whole show, and never laughed. I was like.. why is this dude even here.
At 7:45, two opening comedians came onstage, and they were pretty funny. Daniel was on for an hour. This would be my second time seeing a comedy act, after Conan OBrien this summer. I looove Tosh... I don't usually watch Comedy Central, but I freaking LOVE Tosh.O and Daniel as a personality, is hilarious. He's just so cute and goofy! Not sure if he does this every show, but I felt like he really disliked our audience for not being louder or clapping more.
Getting out of the crap parking lot sucked because as we were all trying to leave, cars were parking for the second show. We didn't get out for another 45 minutes, and didn't get back to Boston until 12:15am. Now I have to finish an entire art project by 9am, HERE I GOOoo.
